'...Let God transform you into a new person...' Romans 12:2
Are you one of the crowd, or a unique individual? You might well say the second, but if we're being honest, most of us really just want to fit in.
Chuck Swindoll said, 'The truth is, we hate to appear different lest we be ostracised, branded fanatics and rejected. So, we conform.
You'll see it in the child eager to please; the adolescent aligning with peer pressure; the adult breaking their back to keep up with the Joneses.'
God wants His people to be willing to be radically transformed: 'Therefore, I urge you...to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship.
Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...' (vv. 1-2 NIV).
Here are two killer facts God wants you to know about being a transformer.
First, it's urgent. Paul says, 'I urge you, brothers', but words like beg and plead are used in some translations, because the appeal isn't secondary or optional.
Second, you've got the Spirit's help: believers are promised that 'the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world' (1 John 4:4 NLT). God is on your side, helping you resist the world's pressure to conform to its ways.
