Tomorrow never comes
'Seventy years are given to us! ... But soon they disappear' Psalm 90:10
Today we need to ask ourselves, 'What am I doing with my time?' You might think it doesn't matter: 'I've got all the time in the world, I can do what I like when I like!' When we think like this, we act like this - our actions always reflect what we're thinking: 'For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.' (Prov. 23:7 NKJ) Thinking we have all the time in the world means we don't bother doing things now - we can just do it tomorrow! But tomorrow never comes.
We waste our time; we never get as fit as we can, as healthy as we could be, we never read enough, we ignore our family, our friends and God stuff is bottom of the heap. 'What, prayer? Bible study? Church? Tomorrow, next week, once the summer is over, after Christmas ... yeah, I'll do it then!'
We don't have all the time in the world. Listen: 'Seventy years are given to us! Some even live to eighty. But ... soon they disappear.' So sack off your, 'I'll do it tomorrow' attitude, because tomorrow never comes. Start living now! Don't waste the time God has given you, don't miss out on being the best you can be, 'for we are God's masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago' (Eph. 2:10 NLT).
