The Right Thing (3)
'God, who gives you hope ... keep you happy and full of peace' Romans 15:13
Someone once said, 'People may not remember exactly what you did or what you said, but they will always remember how you made them feel'. God doesn't want us to shame, blame, shoot down, or rip each other to shreds.
In Romans 12:17 Paul says, '...discover beauty in everyone. If you've got it in you, get along with everybody. Don't insist on getting even; that's not for you to do.'
(TM) Writer Fredrick Buechner once wrote, 'Of the seven deadly sins, anger is possibly the most fun. To lick your wounds, to smack your lips over grievances long past, to roll over your tongue the prospect of bitter confrontations still to come, to savour to the last toothsome morsel both the pain you are given and the pain you are giving back -in many ways it is a feast fit for a king.
The chief drawback is that what you are wolfing down is yourself. The skeleton at the feast is you.' God wants to, 'give you hope...keep you happy and full of peace.'
So let's do the right thing; as it says in Romans 6:13-14; 'Do not let any part of your body become a tool of wickedness, to be used for sinning.
Instead, give yourselves completely to God since you have been given a new life. And use your whole body as a tool to do what is right for the glory of God. Sin is no longer your master... Instead you are free by God's grace' (TM).
