The Perfect Mix
'All these are the work of ... the same Spirit' 1 Corinthians 12:11
Nothing like a good pick'n'mix is there? Coming up with your own perfect blend of E-numbers, lovingly arranged to suit your taste buds and yours alone!
Similarly, God had a great time forming you in your mum's womb thinking about what special blend of gifts He was going to give you and you alone to glorify Him. What adds even more flavour to who God created you to be is when we start blending our natural gifts with spiritual ones.
The Bible says 'God's various gifts are handed out everywhere; but they all originate in God's Spirit ... Each person is given something to do that shows who God is. Everyone gets in on it, everyone benefits. All kinds of things are handed out by the Spirit, and to all kinds of people!' (1 Cor. 12:4-11 TM).
You might be thinking, 'Whoa there, Bessie! I haven't got a clue what my spiritual gifts are!' Well, the more time you invest with God, the more He will show you.
You'll find you notice His Holy Spirit guiding you in specific ways - for instance, you could be minding-your-own one minute, and the next feel the Spirit tell you that a lady across the road needs prayer for healing. Or you could be having a good old chinwag with your mate and suddenly God gives you a word for them. Whatever it is, God's given you the perfect mix for you!
