''...Rise and go; your faith has made you well'' Luke 17:19
Perhaps you've felt your fair share of being an 'outsider'. But imagine being a leper in Jesus' day. Everywhere you walked you had to ring a bell, as if you were lost cattle, to let people know you were approaching. Once the bell chimed, people would run for cover, in order to get away from you. You weren't allowed into church because people, who really should've known better, believed that God had washed His hands of you.
Can you relate to that kind of treatment? You feel like God has snubbed you. Feel like people avoid you. Feel like you're never going to be back on the up because the people surrounding you are as messed up as you are.
If so it's time to shout out for Jesus. That's what the lepers did in Luke 17. They broke the rules. Instead of ringing their usual bells and crying out, 'unclean' like they were supposed to, they took a chance on crying out for Jesus. And no, God didn't run for cover, He stopped to answer.
Desperate people pray desperate prayers and God responds to their prayers. Just how desperate are you? 'Don't bargain with God. Be direct. Ask for what you need. This is not a cat-and-mouse, hide and seek game we're in' (Luke 11:10 TM).
