SHAKY GROUND

The Dark Angel of Disunity wrung his hands nervously. Lucifer sat behind his enormous chrome desk. 'What do you mean 'they didn't fall for it'?' asked Lucifer. Disunity shrugged his shoulders. 'I don't know, boss. Pride, envy, gossip - I tried wafting them all in their face. But they just wouldn't bite.' Lucifer could feel a migraine coming on. 'So, what, they just sang their tedious songs, said their prayers and read from the Bad Book, is that what you're telling me?' 'Uh-huh. Which meant we couldn't touch them.
The Enemy cast that circle-of-protection thing.' Lucifer threw a knife through the burning sulphuric air, narrowly missing Disunity's head. 'Don't tell me about God's protection. I was the one He threw like lightning through the sky in order to protect His precious heaven, remember?' Disunity scratched his scalp. 'I guess we have to leave them then, right boss?' Lucifer drew a dusty set of darts from his desk-drawer. 'Wrong,' he said, 'we pick them off one by one. As individuals.' 'But what about the circle of protection?'
Lucifer pressed a button on his phone, 'Hullo, Barry. It's me, the accuser. I want you and your finest lawyers to petition the Enemy. Use the Hebrews clause in the contract - the one that says "everything that can be shaken..." I want to see how firm they stand when I'm really shaking their world'.
What now? Sometimes God allows shaky times in order that we would draw faith from Him. Ask God to give you strength to endure.
