'Noah, warned by God ... [saved] his household' Hebrews 11:7

The sales assistant had sniggered when he'd sold the old fool such a large amount of wood. 'A boat!' he'd thought, 'You're going to build a boat in the middle of a desert. Good luck!' before swiftly adding, 'Oh, and the wood is non-returnable.'

The neighbours complained to the local council; the thing was just so big, you see. It blocked out the view from their French windows.

And finally, when the animals started arriving, so did the animal rights protesters. They objected to the poor, cramped conditions that the religious nutter was subjecting them to.

What had possessed Noah to take up the world's craziest woodwork project in the first place? The answer was faith. All the doubters and gripers could see with their own eyes what a ludicrous thing Noah was attempting. But Noah had heard from God. He must've been pretty darn close to God to hear such a thing.

Nobody else was busy boat-building. Everybody else was oblivious to the approaching danger. Noah must've had some pretty interesting prayer-journal entries going on in order to act upon what he was hearing.

Nobody takes up yachting as hobby in the driest part of earth. Not unless you distinctly hear God anyway. Noah saves his family and ultimately humankind through his act of faith. God has some saving assignments for you too - but unless you stay close, you'll never hear the instructions.
