PERFECT FIT
'Sky and earth will wear out; my words won't wear out' Matthew 24:35
Do you have clothes in your wardrobe that you always reach for first? (No, we don't want to know about your "lucky pants"...) Got comfort clothes, that no matter how old or worn they get, still feel great on? Only when they're more "patch" than "pantaloon" might you dream of replacing them.
How good would it be if there was an outfit that would never go out of fashion, could be worn every day, never needing replacing, because it would never wear out?
Sound too good to be true? All good things must come to an end, right? Not all good things... There's one thing that will never become old, worn out or tatty: God says, 'Sky and earth will wear out; my words won't wear out'
And right there, in amongst God's words, is actually the most amazing outfit. Why don't you try it on? It was made with you in mind: 'Dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion, kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered, content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless of what else you put on, wear love. It's your basic, all-purpose garment. Never be without it.' (Col. 3: 12-14 TM).
What now? As you get dressed, name each item from God's wardrobe (as you pull on your socks, speak out that you're putting on compassion, etc), and make it obvious to everyone who sees you that you're wearing love.
