Memory Verse
'The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart' Romans 10:8
Now be honest, how many times do you actually read the day's verse that accompanies the reading. I mean really read it? Not just catch a quick glance as you dig into the larger paragraph for a bit of direction.
This isn't some kind of Christian horoscope you know - the idea is to be inspired to crack open your Bible. The Word 4U 2Day isn't God-breathed - only scripture is. So, use this little booklet to awaken your taste buds for a slap-up serving of the real thing.
In fact, why not start memorising some of the verses each day? Here's how: choose a time when you're free from distraction. Read the verse again and again. Say it out loud because hearing your own voice will help cement it.
Go away and come back to it. Try repeating it when you're waiting for a bus or going for a jog or in the bath. Write it down over and over again. Test yourself on it the next day.
Being proactive with God's Word will pay you dividends. When you need direction the Holy Spirit will be able to bring it to mind. When someone asks for your help the answer they need might pop up in a verse.
When you're tempted to stray the right verse may reframe your thinking. Jesus promised that whoever hears His words and puts them into action will stand strong when times of trouble come (learn it in Luke 6:46-49).
