Leap of faith

'Everyone who has will be given more' Matthew 25:29

Every accomplishment in your life starts with a decision. It's not chance or fate that determines your destiny, but your choices. Jesus told the parable of the talents: a businessman gave three employees talents to invest. The first two doubled theirs. The third one buried his. Scared of losing it, he didn't even take a tiny risk. 'The master was furious ... "It's criminal to live cautiously like that ... you knew I was after the best, why did you do less...?"' (Matt. 25:26 TM)

God wants us to do the best with what He gives us, and that involves us making choices, and sometimes taking what feel like massive leaps of faith: 'without faith it is impossible to please God' (Heb. 11:6 NIV). Have faith that God will be with you when you make those tough choices, and that He's given you the skills to do what you need to. Don't waste the talents God has given you by being too scared to use them.

Jesus ended His parable saying, 'everyone who has, more will be given ...Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him' (Matt. 25:29 NIV). Your goal should be to 'maximise the investment' on everything you do. To get more, you must use what God's already given you. When you step out in faith, God moves, and extraordinary things happen. When you limit what you will do, you limit what you can do. Just think: if you don't act now, what could you be missing out on later?
