It's the little things that matter
'Shamgar ... killed six hundred ... Philistines with an ox goad.' Judges 3:31
Sometimes we can feel small and insignificant, like our life doesn't matter or we're not important. We can think that what we have and what we can do is never good enough. But get this: God is in the business of taking small things and turning them into something amazing.
He created the earth out of nothing: 'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and empty' (Gen. 1:1-2). Empty - now it doesn't get much smaller than that!
Think about what Jesus did with that boy's packed lunch in John 6: All that kid had was a few fish butties but he gave them to Jesus and Jesus turned it into a massive feast for over 5,000 people - with doggy bags to take away!
In Judges 3 you'll discover that 'Shamgar ... killed six hundred ... Philistines with an ox goad'. Shamgar was a guy armed with an ox goad -just a long wooden stick with a steel tip used to prod oxen. It wasn't much. His odds weren't good: 600 to 1 at best. But thanks to God, he beat the odds, saved his field, and helped the people of Israel start trusting God again.
God is in the business of using little things. So never think you are small and insignificant. Give all you are and all you have to God and know He will do something massively good.
