Insignificance to Significance
'Does anyone dare despise this day of small beginnings?' ZECHARIAH 4:10
There was this guy called Dwight, he grew up with loads of brothers and sisters, not much education and only his widowed mother to look after him. She made Dwight go to church but he couldn't get his head round all the 'churchy spiritual talk'. At 17 he left home and moved to the city to work in his uncle's shoe shop; on the condition that he went to church every week.
One day a bloke in the church told Dwight about God's love for him and he gave his life to Jesus. Dwight knew nothing about the Bible so people looked down on him and assumed that God wouldn't use him...But they were wrong! God saw in the heart of Dwight Moody the raw material necessary to make a communicator of His Word and a changer of nations and that's exactly what Dwight became!
Every oak tree starts as an acorn. Jesus began in a stable but He didn't stay there. David was a shepherd but he became King. Joseph was sold as a slave but he became Prime Minister. Why? Because '... God was with him... gave him favour and wisdom... made him Governor over Egypt... '(Acts 7:9-10 NKJ). Whatever you have today is enough to create anything you'll ever need in your future. Just put it into God's hands and be willing to start small.
