Help!
'My help comes from the Lord' Psalm 121:2
So how are you doing today? Have you back-stabbed, thrown a temper tantrum, been a moaning Minnie? No? What about in a few minutes when you actually get out of bed - will you be able to say the same?
Truth is, we need God more than we let on. Sure, prayer comes in handy when we've got that exam coming up or when we want that little hotty to notice our new shoes, but we can blank God when it comes to those irritable parts of our behaviour.
Like when that annoying mate of yours drains every bit of time from your day so you just have to explode in their face, right? Well you could always pray for more patience.
Or when you come across that bit of juicy goss about that flirty Year 11 - you've just got to pass it on right? Well, you could pray that God will give you the strength to hold your tongue.
Or when things seem so pants you may as well bring the whole world and his wife down with you, right? Maybe you could look for God's goodness in the situation. God's help doesn't have to be reserved solely for all the '999' situations in your life.
You can ask for help in your everyday stresses and strains, you can ask for help in gently refining your character, you can even ask for help on behalf of others.
