Heaven-bound
'Live your lives as strangers here' 1 Peter 1:17
Ever feel like you don't fit? You're out of place, uncomfortable in your surroundings? Well get this - that's exactly how God says you're meant to feel.
In the Bible He says, 'live your lives as strangers here.' When we live as a follower of Jesus, our real home is Heaven. This means sometimes we will feel a bit lost or out of place here on earth. That's why Jesus says, 'Don't let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me. There is more than enough room in my Father's home ... When everything is ready, I will come and get you, so that you will always be with Me where I am' (John 14:1-3 NLT).
So have confidence today, knowing Jesus is right now preparing your penthouse, your real home, the place where you going to spend forever. It's better than you can imagine and when you get there you'll know you've arrived - you'll know you're home.
In the meantime we need to crack on living God's way: 'Do His work and speak out for Him ... tell others of the ... difference He made for you-from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted ... this world is not your home, so don't make yourselves cosy in it. Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life' (1 Pet. 2: 9-12 TM).
