'Wisdom is better than muscle' Ecclesiastes 9:16
You can find out yesterday's top temperature in Buenos Aires at the click of a mouse. You can find out Roger Bannister's exact sub-four minute mile to the nearest tenth of a second at the flick of a page. You can even find out what went through Alexander the Great's mind by watching a film. One thing you'll never learn from Google, the Guinness Book of Records or your local Odeon, though, is wisdom.
'Do people know where to find wisdom? Where can they find understanding? It is hidden from the eyes of all humanity.' (Job 28:12, 21 NLT). Knowledge is easily accessible but wisdom is hard to pin down - unless you actively pursue it. When you know God, you know where to find it.
You're never lost with a prayer at your disposal, 'If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and He will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking' (James. 1:5 NLT). You're never stuck with a face buried in the your most reliable source of wisdom, the Bible:
'The instructions of The Lord are perfect, reviving the soul. The decrees of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple' (Ps. 19:7 NLT). And you're never in a muddle with the Holy Spirit: 'Who can know the Lord's thoughts? Who knows enough to teach Him? But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ' (1 Cor. 2:16 NLT).
