Focus
'...He kept ... on going ... He kept his eyes on the one...' Hebrews 11:27
Two cute rabbits appear in your garden at once, and you decide you want to catch them. If you try and catch both at the same time you'll catch neither. It's only when you focus on one at a time that you'll achieve what you desired.
What about the decisions you are making for your life? If you leave all your options open, you won't achieve much. Bruce Lee once said, 'The successful warrior is the average man, with laser-like focus.'
We are capable of doing many things with our lives - we could become a doctor or dentist, teacher or lawyer, policeman or paramedic, actor or dancer. But if we focus on all our options at the same time, we will end up achieving none of them.
Decide on one, and stick to it! Hebrews 11 is full of men and women who achieved much in their life, overcoming many obstacles and traumas.
Like Moses: 'He kept right on going because he kept his eyes on the one who is invisible.' Paul in Philippians 3:13-14 tells us, 'I focus on... one thing ... Jesus' (NLT).
What about you? Where is your faith focus? Is it all over the place? Jesus one minute, keeping your options open the next? Stay focused all the time! 'Keep your eyes on Jesus ... When you find yourselves flagging in your faith ... That will shoot adrenaline into your souls!' (Heb. 12: 1-3 TM).
