DIG DEEP
''Draw your strength from Him'' Ephesians 6:10
Emotions can be so annoying, can't they? Sometimes you can feel things so deeply you simply don't know how to cope. You cry helplessly, 'I don't want to feel this way!' But you still do.
Like when you've broken up with someone and you see for the first time that they're now 'in a relationship'. So you plaster an 'Only Way is Essex', smile on your face and tell people 'I'm not bothered!', but inside you're full of resentment and residual hurt.
It can be hard to know how to deal with how you're feeling. So offload onto Jesus, the '...Amazing Counsellor, Strong God, Eternal Father, (and) Prince of Wholeness' (Isaiah 9:6 TM). God can give you words that bring light in these dark times.
Turning to God isn't an on/off switch that can simply turn off the pain, but God gives us the strength needed to push on through it, to get closer to the best that He has for you. 'The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love...' (Zephaniah 3:17 NIV)
What now? 'When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you' (Matthew 6:6 NIV).
