DELIVERED

'...They didn't even smell of smoke' Daniel 3:27

We can't blame the devil for everything that goes wrong (we're to take responsibility for our actions) but we do need to remember that he's real and hanging around: 1 Peter 5:8 (NTL) says, 'Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.'

Don't freak out about that though: 1 John 4:4 (TM) tells us, 'you come from God and belong to God. You have already won a big victory... for the Spirit in you is far stronger than anything in the world.'

As James 4:7 (TM) says all we need to do is, 'let God work His will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time.'

Have you read about those three guys who God literally delivered from the flames? They lived in a time like ours, where most people think more about themselves than they do about God. They were given a horrendous death penalty, to be burnt alive simply for believing in God. Thrown into the hottest furnace fire in the kingdom and yet they came out alive, without a scorch mark anywhere: 'They didn't even smell of smoke.'

They're names are odd-sounding today, (Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego) but they'll always be remembered by history, their lives publicly announcing, 'The devil may want to destroy you but God is here to deliver you'

What now? Read Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego's story in Daniel 3 and be inspired by the God who delivers us from danger.

He's real but we make the choices!

I think it's absolutely true... The devil is real and we should watch out of his trickery because he will use all sorts of tricks against you. But, in the end it is our choice to listen to him and yeald or not. It is in the end us to blame because the devil cannot force us to do something against our will... He has no power to do that! But, he will try to tempt us and trick us and in the end it is our choices and the decisions we make.
