Dad the Deity (5)
'For He is always thinking about you' 1 Peter 5:7
The baby left whimpering into his cot, tired of crying and nobody coming. The young child shushed in front of the TV so as not to disturb dad. The girl singing solo in the school show with no mum or dad to clap on the night. It's no wonder we struggle to completely trust God the Father when we've been let down by our earthly parents.
If our mind is wrestling to think of how or when God has ever loved us, it's because those who should've loved us have let us down. God's love should be modelled through the arms, hearts and voices of those placed nearest to us in our lives.
Your heavenly Father stored away each tear as you whimpered in your cot. Your heavenly Father pulled up a seat next to you as you were silenced, alone in front of the television. Your heavenly Father was the first on His feet applauding as you sang your heart out at the school concert.
Shame on us all if you've reached today without experiencing God's love for you; God hasn't let you down, people have. Your family home should've been four walls of love, acceptance, forgiveness and security for you; a place to experience God's love for you.
No matter who you are, or where you're from, God your loving Father awaits you today with two outstretched arms ready to hug away those hurts from now into eternity.
