'CHOOSE TO LOOK FOR THE BEST'
Look for the best in each other. 1 Thessoalonians 5:15
My momma always said to me, life is like a box of Quality Street. Before you get anywhere near the tin, someone's always snaffled all of the Strawberry Creams... People are mixed bags, and usually more like "Cadbury Mis-shapes" sold off cheap than a premium box of Milk Tray. We may all have value in God's eyes (praise the Lord for THAT), but we can be right gits to each other.
So when God instructs us to 'Look for the best in each other...', how can you do that, when you feel that a person is deliberately winding you up, or bullying you, or setting out to make your life a living hell? You have to choose to, that's how. The only way to find the best in someone is to choose to look for it.
God never asks us to do things that are pointless or bad for us, so when He says, 'be careful that when you get on each other's nerves you don't snap at each other. Look for the best in each other, and always do your best to bring it out...', choose to do it.
What now? Who is a real thorn in your side at the moment? Who do you pray that you won't see, rather than pray God will bless? Pray for a change in your own heart about them, maybe even write the prayer if that will help.
