Changing Church

'Pray ... that ... words may be given me...' Ephesians 6:19

Do you find church boring? What do you want church to be like? At ancient-future.net, Jill Knuttila gives a 'Young Person's View of the Church'. She writes in the hope that church leaders will help young people find what they are looking for in church.

Jill suggests it boils down to three main things:
1) Programmes: 'We already know that it's a tough world out there,' she writes, 'What we need is someone to suggest a down-to-earth strategy on how to survive this cruel world by keeping a strong faith'

2) Worship services: Jill suggests a variety of music is needed, in an environment that doesn't pile on the pressure but allows the opportunity to chill out with God

3) Leadership that includes and listen to young people, actively believing they have a valid contribution to make.

What's your impression of church... and what are you doing about it? Do you pray? Do you pray often for your church leaders, or grumble and moan behind their backs?

Paul was one of the great heroes of the early church - used by God to achieve amazing things (read it all in the book of Acts). But even he said, 'Pray ... that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me ... that I will fearlessly make known ... the gospel.'

It is your job to pray massively that God the Holy Spirit will breathe His power into your church leaders, making their words like dynamite. If we want church to change, it starts with our prayers.
