'We get up again and keep going' 2 Corinthians 4:9
Are you fed-up? Do you dream of being like Cinderella - having a fairy god-mother to wave a magic wand and make everything in your life better? Here's a secret: don't pray for an easier life; pray to be a stronger person. God doesn't usually change our tough situations in an instant - sometimes He asks us to, 'get up again and keep going.' But don't give in, because as Paul writes to the Romans, 'There's more to come... we're never left feeling short-changed.
Quite the contrary-we can't round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!' (Rom. 5: 3-5)
Charles Spurgeon said, 'By perseverance the snail reached the ark.' It was a tough old snail trail, but what a great place he ended up. The Wright Brothers had a 'flying problem', but with every setback they got up again and kept on going, until finally they invented the world's first successful aeroplane.
Helen Keller's childhood illness left her blind and deaf but Helen kept on going in spite of her difficulties and became a successful author, lecturer and political campaigner bringing about many positive changes for people born with disabilities.
Who knows how God will change things for you when you, 'get up again and keep on going'? There's only one way to find out. As the saying goes, "Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground."
