Win Win situation
'For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.' PHILIPPIANS 1:21
Sometimes, we're a burger short of a happy meal. In our own heads we think that by being famous all our problems in life would disappear. We think that by winning the Lotto we will have happiness on our plates forever. We think that by being The Godfather people will have heaps of respect for us. Listen up, how many famous people screw their lives up for the sake of their face in the papers? How many lives does being a millionaire buy you? How much respect do you get when you're six feet under because you've took a bullet for the sake of being number one? That's not living, it's faking.
Paul sussed onto a win/win situation. If he was living for Christ, he'd win, because Christ is all there is worth living for. If he died, he'd win, because he'd gain more of Christ, he'd get the full fill of Him in Heaven. That kind of thinking shifts things into perspective. When you're not honing in on fortune or fame, but instead got all your brain cells pulsing on the Saviour, you've found the secret to satisfaction. What can scare you, once you've realised that by living you're with Jesus, and by dying you're with Jesus.
Now isn't that just like all your numbers have come up at once, or in other words, 'For me, to live is Christ and to die is gain'.
