Wilderness attitudes!
'We who...believed are able to enter...God's rest.' HEBREW 4:3
After spending months wandering round the wilderness, the Israelites developed a blame-culture. They blamed their enemies, they blamed Moses, they blamed each other, they even blamed God! As a result of their blaming and complaining they got fully stuck in the wilderness.
Blaming other people is a huge issue problem today. Nothing is our fault! It's always the government, teachers, family, friends, police, council or whoever's fault. Never us! We start feeling sorry for ourselves and from there it spirals into a full-blown pity-party where the world is against us and life is Oh-so terrible.
The truth is, ninety-nine percent of the time the solution begins with a change of attitude in you! Sometimes things happen and we need to learn from them. Sometimes God lets things happen to teach us. So we can blame others, feel sorry for ourselves and be utterly miserable or we can take responsibility, understand that things don't always work the way we think they should and understand that people aren't perfect.
Do you know one of those people who are miserable and think the world is against them and no one cares? The truth is those people are really hard to care for because they're so self-pitying! People will be far more concerned for you when you're positive and trying to make the best of things. So start taking responsibility!
