A love letter from Jesus (1)
'You...are a letter from Christ...' 2 CORINTHIANS 3:3
'This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son...by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life' (John 3:16) God sent Jesus to demonstrate His love and He sends us to tell people 'You...are a letter from Christ...written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God.'
When a letter arrives two questions immediately spring up in our mind:
1) Who is it for? John's answer is 'ANYONE'! For every person you meet, you will have something they need. Friends, enemies, relatives, neighbours and strangers need the message you have and the hope you bring.
2) Who is it from? A letter from someone you fancy is more interesting than some junk mail! Remember, you are a letter from Christ, about Christ.
'For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord...' (2 Corinthians 4:5 NIV). Our message is not about us; it's about Jesus. 'But are people really interested in Jesus?' you ask. In His lifetime Jesus was a national celebrity who could draw big crowds.
Statistics say 1 billion people across the world are Christians today. Jesus isn't junk mail. 'But I, when I am lifted up...will draw all men to myself' (John 12:32 NIV). Today nothing is more needed than a living portrait of Jesus Christ, so deliver your love letter to 'anyone' who crosses your path!
