About 3 months ago my grandma had a double knee replacement. During all this I often struggled with the idea that God could control our entire world. How could one being have so much power? 3 days after my grandma had her knees replaced she had a heart attack and was sent into surgery. Whilst in surgery my grandma had a stoke and went in to a coma. She hadn't been awake for 24 hours, but the previous day my dad had told me that she had been asking about me coming to see her. I prayed all the way to the hospital, and tried to hide my tears as I feared the outcome of the stroke. I prayed that God, if he took her home, would let her know how much I loved her and that she wouldn't be scared. I also prayed that if He kept her here that she would be happy and healthy.
While walking up to her hospital room I tried my hardest to keep it together and smile when I walked into the room.
When I entered the room I greeted my grandmas partner and waited for the courage to greet my grandma, who was lying motionless in her bed.
When I finally reached her bed the tears began again, and I reached my hand to her shoulder and kissed her forehead. I said "Hi grandma, it's Emmaly"
Thats when it happened. A woman who hadn't moved or even twitched her eyelids in 24 hours opened her eyes, looked straight at me and said "Hi honey!". Everyone at that moment burst into tears. Even the nurses. Such a wild miracle, and I can only thank God for this.
Today, my grandma is still recovering from the stroke which effected one of her eyes and her hand writing but she is so much better! I am so grateful.
