WHY ARE WE HERE?


Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness (Genesis 1:26a). Because this prophecy is at the beginning of the Bible, many believe this work of creation was completed. However, because GOD works through ages (dispensations) of time, He continues to make us in His own image. We might ask; how does GOD make man in His image? First, we are born of GOD by being made alive together with the Spirit of Christ when forgiven of all trespasses by repenting and confessing our sins. And then, because Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible GOD (Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible GOD, the First-born of all creation - Colossians 1:15), we are made in the image of GOD as Jesus Christ is formed in us by the workings of the Holy Spirit in our life to make us a “son” of GOD and heir of GOD. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren (Romans 8:29).

Whoever is separated from God by sin in their life that believes in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins is made alive together with the Spirit of Christ (“quickened”) when forgiven of all trespasses by repenting and confessing their sins. As we follow the Holy Spirit, our “body of sin” (“old man”) is cleansed of unrighteousness as we are made in the image of Jesus Christ to become a son of GOD in the <st1lace w:st="on"><st1laceType w:st="on">Kingdom</st1laceType> of <st1laceName w:st="on">GOD</st1laceName></st1lace>. Until we all come into the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of GOD, to a full-grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; (Ephesians 4:13). We grow in grace and wisdom and acquire the attributes of Christ (“fruit of the Spirit” – Galatians 5:22-23) as we are made in the image of Jesus Christ. The process of being cleansed of unrighteousness to be holy is ongoing. We progress to enter the <st1lace w:st="on"><st1laceType w:st="on">Kingdom</st1laceType> of <st1laceName w:st="on">GOD</st1laceName></st1lace> more quickly and there is less suffering when we cooperate with the Holy Spirit as we are led.

But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat of it: for in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die (Genesis 2:17). Adam and Eve were told not to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, for if they did, they would die. The serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die: For GOD knows that in the day you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be like GOD, knowing good and evil (Genesis 3:4-5). And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; (Genesis 3:7). By transgressing the command not to partake of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, they were convicted of sin which “opened their eyes” to knowledge of good and evil. They learned there is right and there is wrong.

Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten of the tree, which I commanded you saying, you shall not eat of it: cursed is the ground for your sake; (Genesis 3:17). They became spiritually separated from GOD (“dead”) for transgressing the command by GOD, not to partake of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and were corrected (judged) by GOD so they would learn obedience. This worked out for good and GOD was glorified, in that, they became like GOD in knowing good and evil.

We can see the “fall of man” as part of the plan of GOD in creating man in His own image, because it was not until after man “fell into sin” that the Lord GOD said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: (Genesis 3:22a). GOD did not declare man to be “as one of us” (in the image of GOD) in knowing good and evil until after he “fell into sin” by eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

When we become separated from GOD by sin, our suffering leads to repentance and obedience. Adam and Eve tried to hide their guilt by covering themselves. We might try to cover our guilt by denial, by trying to justify our sin or by doing good deeds so GOD might forgive us. However, doing good deeds so GOD might forgive us are as filthy rags to GOD. We are born again and saved by being made alive together with the Spirit of Christ when forgiven by confessing our sins as we trust in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. GOD “cleanses us of unrighteousness” (sin) as Christ is formed in us to become heirs of the <st1lace w:st="on"><st1laceType w:st="on">Kingdom</st1laceType> of <st1laceName w:st="on">GOD</st1laceName></st1lace>.

We gain knowledge of good and evil as we experience the tests and trials of life. I have seen the travail which GOD has given to the sons of men to be exercised in it (Ecclesiastes 3:10). By being exposed to evil, we see the damaging effect of sin which leads us to repentance and salvation by faith in the name of Jesus Christ as we confess our sins and Jesus Christ is formed in us. We become like GOD in knowing good and evil, for without this knowledge; we would not appreciate life, the creation, and GOD and HIS love and blessings for us.

He started a brand new work ! Creating all things over again !He created a new heaven for us [New Jerusalem !
Then He created mankind a new creature ! He created a new rest for us ! He has new bodies in new jerusalem for us as well as new names for the new us ! Crowns for our heads , new kingdoms for us and much more !

He made those few willing , in the image of our LORD JESUS ! He wanted a family made like our Lord to share his Vast Kingdom with !

He started a Brand New race of beings ! Made like our LORD JESUS CHRIST! Our New spirit is the holy perfect child of God!

But , it a baby at salvation , born again is a New birth , just as any new birth is ? We are a baby when born into his household and family and kingdom !

Rom_2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit

Co 15:48 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
1Co 15:49 And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

Heb_12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,

We just finished reading 1 Corinthians together in our Bible Study group.
And this passage clarifies how I understand what God expects out of us, which is another way of asking "Why are we here?"

First, we bore the image of Adam (earthly),
then we had the choice to be born again in the Spirit, to bear the image of our Lord (heavenly).

Why are we here?

I believe Satan's fall was in genesis 1:2-1:4 how else was he in the garden of eden? I dont see any other hints of a fall. some would call me a gap theorist for this belief but i certainly dont ascribe to this gap justifying the scientific lie of millions of year old earth. But you can't deny the fall must have happened some where before eden because we see the serpent is there tempting eve.

I believe that the "I wills" were before adam (Isaiah 14:12-14) "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! {13} For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: {14} I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."

and it seems very fitting, that when lucifer in his pride is cast out of heaven and confined to this earth, that God would take dirt, breathe life into it, and produce man, who by the Lord Jesus are made into his image, and whom the angels will look at in great amazement at the grace we've experienced. together in heaven, man and angels, glorifying the God of heaven for all eternity.

It explains why satan desires so desperately to confuse us! he does not want God to be glorified because God has made us, simple man, more powerful than satan could ever hope to be! And is it only by the mercy and grace of our Lord Jesus we have this power! how much glory and honor is he due then for this beautiful display of love? ALL!!!

How jealous is satan? His fate is sealed to torment, and we as a fallen creature are given the gift of eternal life! a simple act of humility in calling upon the lord! the opposite of satans pride, what a beautiful picture, I get goosebumps when I think about it.

Jesus was not created, in luke this quote is reaffirming his claim to be creator God incarnate. before man he saw the fall of satan. like lightning is very interesting to me, i think of electricity and how it can flow across the world, much like a roaring lion... and how electricity has been used for decades to create docile lazy humans (but we are getting off topic)

(Ezekiel 28:15) "Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee." Satan was created and we see from previous scripture in this chapter that he was the anointed cherub until iniquity was found. was that after his first lie to eve, or was it when the light was separated from the darkness? i dont think i can say either dogmatically. but the thought of satans rebellion and pride being answered by God breathing into dirt brings a smile to my face. to me it makes sense that satan being jealous of man would even attempt to cause the fall, and his continued jealousy to lead him to kill Jesus, which was another plan that backfired.

Listen Jesus was all over the old testament ! but was not known as Jesus , until He entered a body like our !

moses followed Jesus as a cloud and pillar of fire!

Not sure if satan was allowed to even come to earth ? But for sure when he trick eve and adam , was a sin !
satan wanted to be the god of this planet and rule it ! he wanted to be equal with GOd !

satan been banned from entering heaven [New Jerusalem ] He did go into the old heaven ! but defiled it !That why God created a new Heaven [New Jerusalem ]



Nothing sin full can enter the New Heaven [New Jerusalem[
also i believe the two men , who it appears has not died , are in the old heaven ?
Enoch and elijah ?
