Hello, I read through Daniel chapter3 today. Here is 3:8~12
But some of the astrologers[e] went to the king and informed on the Jews. They said to King Nebuchadnezzar, “Long live the king! You issued a decree requiring all the people to bow down and worship the gold statue when they hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipes, and other musical instruments. That decree also states that those who refuse to obey must be thrown into a blazing furnace. But there are some Jews—Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego—whom you have put in charge of the province of Babylon. They pay no attention to you, Your Majesty. They refuse to serve your gods and do not worship the gold statue you have set up.

The whole chapter 3 clearly indicates only 3 people (Daniel's friends) not bowed down and worship the gold statue set up by the Barbylonian king. I just wonder if Daniel bowed down and worship the gold statue or he gone to somewhere. But through the whole Daniel, I guess Daniel should never bow to the gods, and must be caught along with his 3 friends.

Daniel may not have been in town when all this happened. But it is also possible that he did bow down.

We know from reading chapter one and chapter six that Daniel was not afraid to stand up for his faith, and was prepared to face the gravest consequences.

But take a look at chapter one. Some of his choices are unusual. He risks the wrath of the king by refusing the court food. But he makes no objection to his new name Belteshazzar. If I am right, this meaning of this name is "Baal is my prince". What could be worse for a devout Jew?

It is all too easy for those of us who live in situations where our faith is not put to the test like this to make judgements about what we would do or should do in such life-or-death situations.

More questions than answers here, I think.

he was at the gate

A pastor preached the same message the other time he asked where was daniel, and many of us did not know where was daniel.

you see something Daniel trained these three hebrew boys they were scholars of daniel they were taught by daniel everything that they were taught was by daniel they were his scholars.

and you see something we have to be tested sometime in our lives and thats what happen to the three hebrew boys they where tested on their faith and their believe in God and everything else for that matter.

but they had to go through it alone Daniell could not always be there when they go through difficult times, like your pastor would not always be there when you are faced with heavy trial in your life you would face them on your own so the boys faith had to be tested.

so thats why Daniel was there because it was the divine plan of God for them to go through this alone and no one being there.
