Where did God want to begin the transformation of His people? Rather than taking over the palace of Herod or the religious halls of power at the temple, God chose the more obscure, easily overlooked places. Besides empowering John the Baptist for his ministry in the wilderness, the Lord saw John’s ministry having a generational impact.
When the people of God turn away from Him, a part of the problem can be traced back to the dedication of parents in the discipleship of their children, and God was particularly concerned about fathers. Is there something that distracts you from the calling God has placed in your life? Perhaps your heart is turned toward something other than your children or the place where you need to serve the most.
The impact of fathers dedicating themselves to the flourishing and spiritual growth of their children will result in them being prepared to receive the Lord and to accept the wisdom of godly teachers. This devotion of fathers has a far-reaching impact.
