Please come with me in the book of Revelation 2:2 the Lord says "I know your deeds, your hard work and perseverance. I know that you cannot tolerate wicked men, and you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them false. You Have persevered and have endured hardships for my name, and have not grown weary."
All the above are the good things we do, to the glory of God BUT there is something missing, please read this...

Vs.4 thats where my attention is "YET I hold this against you, You have FORSAKEN your first love" What does God mean by forsaking the first love? Do you remember the first days and months when You got saved and served Jesus with ALL your strength, time and whatever it took you , you did it BUT as time went by, you slowly withdrawn to the work and purpose God called you for. You used to minister and bring souls to christ, used to attend bible study, used to participate in church activities, used to tell people about Jesus, used to move great with the gifts of the H.Spirit, but you dont do or you've slown down in all this. Thats what He means, forsaking His first love.

Think about it and reflect on what i've just shared......ask the H.Spirit to show you where you've withdrawn and tell Him where you want to be......I thank God there is hope in every situation.

Vs.5 teaches that we should remember where we have fallen and repent thus the Lord will hear us.

He's faithful to forgive us if we come to Him with a sincere heart.:love:

Right. Consider:

1 Thes 1:3 Remembering unceasingly your work of faith and labor of love and endurance of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, before our God and Father;

Compared with:
Rev 2:2 I know your works and your labor and your endurance and that you cannot bear evil men; and you have tried those who call themselves apostles and are not, and have found them to be false;

So the believers in Ephesus had the same works and labor and endurance, but they were missing faith, love and hope. They had become distracted by the outward things to leave aside their first love in their fellowship with Christ.

Thank you Cerebus,

I must admit of falling short at some point in my life due to many obstacles that comes on my way...the fire i used to have when i got saved years back insn't the same i must admit.....but i thank God for He's a God of second chance, i need to stir up the gifts in me and let the Holy Spirit have His way in my life. For my desire is go back to calling of His first love....:love:

Amen.

Let me share this:
1 Cor 2:9 But as it is written, “Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard and which have not come up in man’s heart; things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

To realize and participate in the deep and hidden things God has ordained and prepared for us requires us not only to believe in Him but also to love Him. To fear God, to worship God, and to believe in God (that is, to receive God) are all inadequate; to love Him is the indispensable requirement. To love God means to set our entire being —spirit, soul, and body, with the heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30) —absolutely on Him, that is, to let our entire being be occupied by Him and lost in Him, so that He becomes everything to us and we are one with Him practically in our daily life. In this way we have the closest and most intimate fellowship with God, and we are able to enter into His heart and apprehend all its secrets (Psa. 73:25; 25:14). Thus, we not only realize but also experience, enjoy, and fully participate in these deep and hidden things of God.

From the footnote on 'love Him'.

Thank you once more...
The above is powerful and very vital in our walk, let it be our desire to love God to that extend, he desires us to do so thus, will reveal Himself unto us. Its high time we go back to His first love. :love:

A Christian singer named once said he was "Adicted to Jesus".

I wanted to be "Adicted to Jesus".
I want to feel & act each & every day like I can't live without Jesus.

Do you want to be "Adicted to Jesus"? Are you?
