When You Pray

This has been lovely and very thought provoking to read. My thoughts are very simple.
Prayer is my continual link to the Lord in heaven. Im constantly uttering prayers throughout the day...for passers by, for friends, family , for guidance etc. Just simple childlike speech to my Father above. A simple longing to be closer to the One I adore.
Reading the comments that ask does the Lord need our prayers... I just think (with my very simple mind) what loving Father wouldnt want to be in constant communication with His children. He is almighty and in control but He loves us so much and prayer draws us closer to that love.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit - Ephesians 6:18

A few moments ago, I was blanching beans.... and was marveling at how beans are made... so green and so perfect.. and so deliciouos and nutritious.. WHAT A GIFT !! I don't really think if my constant chattering to God as praying necessarily, but in my mind and sometimes out loud, I just chatter on ... carrying on conversations with my Father... One of my friends overheard me talking out loud one day and nobody else was in the room... she said...."Who are you talking to?".. I said our Father !! She just smiled and nodded...
When I hear of someone in NEED of prayer, I will get on my knees... some times figureatively, and sometimes literally.... and ask God to provide what that person needs,.. whether it is a job or surgery, or physical or spiritual healing... whatever... but it is based on their needs, not so much on their wants....
Communication with Abba Father is extremely important... why?? Because God like it that's why?

wasn't it so good that you could say to your friend you were chatting to your Father, I remember before I was saved if I was talking out loud I'd only have been talking to myself, what I differance God makes in our lives.
I too remember a cousins daughter asking me 'whats with you going all religious then' was how she put it, well when I started explaining myself but trying to keep it really simple, (the girl in question is an alcoholic and said she was proud to be) well, I came to the bit in my testimoney when I told her I was talking to Jesus, and asked 3 specific things in my life, well her response was, 'yes, I do that to, talk to myself' but I was able to say, I had those 3 things answered, so I wasn't talking to myself.
You just reminded me of that little incident.L.L.
I've since sent her a dvd of a former alcoholic who is now an elder in a vast church, her sister's boy goes to the very church.

I too during the day would speak with our Father, I'm not sure if I count it as prayer, it is definatly, connection, and I'm sure we make Him smile much, especially things that I would come of with.
On leaving my dog at the vet today, (you'll know what I mean) he's very ill, he may not pull through, on stepping out of the car a book marker fell from a book in my hand
Psalm 46 v 1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
What a comfort that came as I felt as if Jesus was speaking to me, thing was, there were 3 book markers but only this one fell out and only this one would have had meaning in the circumstances.
Oh how I love Jesus.

Prayer
For many years I struggled with prayer. Yes as a born again believer!
My relationship with my human father was one sided, his side for himself. I was inept in understanding the absence of a reply. Until it was revealed to me by Gods grace that Jesus hears my side. My association with God is through Jesus. Now when I pray I know full well God hears my prayer! This is all in Gods strength for me through his Spirit. So now when I approach prayer I do not see it as do's and don'ts or trying to make the prayer right or trying to understand the guidelines of right and wrong way for God to hear my prayer but just plain simple conversation with God through his son the Lord Jesus Christ.

I too had problems with prayer time, not for the same reasons though, I thought I never gave it enough time, then I came to realize that ALL my conversations with Jesus our Lord, were prayer, just because I wasn't sitting at home, 1 to 1, I thought you can only pray this way, but no, I've since learnt, I pray in my car, every minute when I just call on His name, and speak, it is prayer, this gave me a much better assurance of having a proper relationship with Jesus.
Things have been brought up before my eyes through prayer, things that I never even thought were relevant, but everything is when it comes to walking the narrow way, and aiming for that Holiness that is desired for us all to be walking in, not an easy task, but with help from the Master of Holiness, I believe we can improve, but only through Jesus leading and guiding, it's not something we can undertake, well I can't anyway.

Sometimes I wake up in the mornings and look outside, feeling the breeze on my face that flowing through the open window and see the wonderful creation (like a artist that painted a picture) of God.
Then I thank God for this day, because I know there is a purpose for me and God granted me another day. I think when we don't take God for granted, we learn to be thankful and give glory where it is due.

Yes, when we take NOTHING for granted even more so.
When you spoke about creation, the breeze it made me think of this poem I wrote a while back, I'd like to share it with you all if I may. I am no poet as you'll see when you read, but this was inspired by God as I sat at this place called Hazelbank, taking in creation too.
It really happened, it's not a made up event. I sat on a bench while the others went down on the water front. You'll see it begins with the verse of a well known hymn. I was attending a Creative Writing class, and I believe Jesus had me placed there to read words to them to glorify His Holy name, as we had to read out our work.
Praise God from whom all blessings flow
Praise Him all creatures here below
Praise Him above ye heavenly host
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
My Poem (relating to above.)
Creation, the moon and stars,
the mountains high and glorious
the sea before us
the flowers, trees even the bees
for breath and life
and even our strife
To God be the Glory, forever Amen.
(Homework: adding to above verse)
Sitting here at Hazelbank

Told you I'm no poet, but its God inspired that's more important, Glory to Jesus.
We can tend to forget these special times in His presence, that's why I love to keep notes, write it all down.
I have filled journals and journals, in the hope that my grown up kids will want them, perhaps when God has called me home, hopefully they'll want them before, but then we don't know what's in store for tomorrow.
I am glad to know and to be comforted in knowing that whatever tomorrow holds for me God holds tomorrow and me in the palm of His hands.
I just love to write, its a gift from God, I'm not a good talker, for a woman now that's quite rare I imagine, but my fingers do the talking best.
We have a wonderful Saviour, and He's ours all ours.

and thank you for your lovely sentiments, they really don't belong to me though, it was all for Jesus, He was my inspiration, if you knew me, knew'd know how true that is, I can't write poems, never could, but when they are for the Lord's glory, that's differant.
