When does the resurrection happen? Here are some scripture to think about.

John 5:28; "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,
John 5:29; and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

John 11:23; Jesus *said to her, "Your brother will rise again."
John 11:24; Martha *said to Him, "I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day."

Acts 24:15; having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.

Rev 20:4; Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.
Rev 20:5; The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were completed. This is the first resurrection.
Rev 20:6; Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

John 6:40; "For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who beholds the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day."

John 6:44; "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up on the last day.

John 6:54; "He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

1 Thes 4:14; For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
1 Thes 4:15; For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep.
1 Thes 4:16; For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.
1 Thes 4:17; Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.

Rev 20:11; Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them.
Rev 20:12; And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.
Rev 20:13; And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.

Job 14:12; So man lies down and does not rise. Until the heavens are no longer, He will not awake nor be aroused out of his sleep.

John 3:13; "No one has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven: the Son of Man.

Acts 2:34; "For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says: 'THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD, "SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,

After Samuel died, Saul had a witch bring him back to life.

1 Sam 28:15; Then Samuel said to Saul, "Why have you awakened me by bringing me up?" And Saul answered, "I am greatly distressed; for the Philistines are waging war against me, and God has departed from me and no longer answers me, either through prophets or by dreams; therefore I have called you, that you may make known to me what I should do."

Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved—
Eph 2:6 and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus

Php 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Col 3:1 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.

Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.

Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

Considering that to "resurrect" means to "bring back to life", does not the phrase "born again" mean "resurrected"? If that is so, then has not a person who has been born again already had a resurrection?

in context what is being laid out Ray is talking about the glorified body we receive in Christ, what you say is also true but is not what he is talking about. What I understand him saying is at what point does one receive there glorified bodies, correct me if I am wrong @B-A-C

I think with the scripture given it is safe to say at the end when Jesus returns,, but most importantly we also have to look at "who" gets the glorified body first, because Jesus returns there will be people that are still alive and of course people that are dead. , I take that to mean they are getting there glorified bodies first, before those who remain alive.

1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.

Apparently not.

2Tim 2:18; men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some.

Were there no born again Christians before Paul wrote this to Timothy? (Probably around 60-65AD)

This seems fairly simple from the Bible verses already quoted. In the Gospel According to John, Jesus calls it the last day. In the first letter to the Thessalonians, Paul says the dead will rise from their graves at the trumpet blast of the coming of Jesus Christ in glory. 1 Corinthians bridges the two in the talk of the 'last trumpet'

I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: “Death has been swallowed up in victory.”

Those who have died in Christ will rise on the last day, when he returns in glory.

how about those who remain alive when he arrives
I have always wondered how those who say there is no rapture, resolve 1Thess 4:14-17;
Now it could be the rapture and 2nd coming happen seconds apart, I'm OK with that, but either way it seems the resurrection of both "the living" and "the dead"
happens at the instant we are removed from the earth, and taken up to the clouds.

I'm sure I've said this half a dozen times already on TalkJesus. Paul is here working with the image of a victorious king returning to his city. In Roman times, the people of the city would come out, greet the king and join the procession back to his throne.

Paul brings in the element of the cloud, which symbolise the glory and the presence of the Lord. We rise to meet Jesus as he comes in glory and accompany him to his rightful throne.

You can debate If this is a literal description or an attempt to describe the indescribable. Whichever, it doesn't give much support to rapture theories.

Interesting that despite how plain and repetitive Jesus was regarding the resurrection there was no choice matching what he said in the poll.

I guess it depends on what you think he speaking to ,,when he said the last day.

Its not a complicated idea. Last has a specific and obvious meaning as does day. But it is rarely used in Scripture in fact fully 1/2 times 'last day' appears in the entire Bible are found in John 6.

Rev 20:7; When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison,

As for if you have to be saved to be resurrected or not...

Acts 24:15; having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.

John 5:28; "Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,
John 5:29; and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

However these two resurrections seemingly will not take place at the same time. They could be 1,000 years apart.

Considering that to "resurrect" means to "bring back to life", does not the phrase "born again" mean "resurrected"? If that is so, then has not a person who has been born again already had a resurrection?
The Biblical word that Jesus spoke is "Born From ABOVE" not "born again" two completely ideas. That carry's two completely thought patterns, No one can be born again on this earth, he cannot go back in their mothers womb. But They can Become a "New CREATURE" and Be "Born OF HEAVEN" "Born of GOD" and not from his Mama. But from another world.

Can I get AMEN?

note: "Born from ABOVE" cannot be a "RESURRECTION" it is a Birth!

So getting back to The Title Thread: "When are we Resurrected"? Created by 'B-A-C'

My answer: "When ever JESUS gets Back" He did make a promise, I hope he keeps!

The question of The Title Thread is: "When are we resurrected?"

I believe the Biblical Text of "Holy Scripture" teaches that When Jesus returns not to earth the ground, but In the SKY above The Earth. At the sound of a Trumpet, will Blow, and what that is, i do not know, But when it Blows, The Dead will Hear it and Get up! And i believe those who belongs to Him will Change and put on "immortality" and meet Him in the AIR... and take us back to where he is [was], the place that He prepared for "us" "The Adopted Sons of GOD", and we will sit down at "The Coronation Table" and "The Ceremony Dinner" will take place. And maybe "The BEMA Seat" and "The Ceremony Speech" just might take place, "that period shall be Revealed when all Heaven got quiet. And GOD The FATHER will present HIS SON in whom HE LOVE, HIS GIFT, that HE GOD The FATHER planned to Create for HIS SON before "THE FOUNDATIONS of The WORLD" Created IN "CHRIST JESUS"!

And GOD the Father will give us The Speech, of what it is all been about AND of That which is to COME! And will Be Dinning with The Father and The SON, And Drinking that wine anew that JESUS promise that we would do. "The LORD's SUPPER". For he has been preparing this place of 'Celebration" since He left the last time He was here.

(John 14)NASB
“Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me. “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. “And you know "THE WAY" where I am going.”''''''''''''[For we, are "THE PEOPLE of "THE WAY"].

And after the "Celebration Ceremonies" we shall return, Describe In "The BOOK" as "Reigning kings, & priest with Jesus, who is The "KING of kings" riding "WHITE HORSES". After 7 earth years we will return with a "SHARED RULE" which is "The Shared Inheritance " of The "ADOPTED" Sons of The LIVING GOD with The "ONLY BEGOTTEN SON of GOD" with all of the Benefits. After we have RULE, Reign a 1000 years. Reigning from The New JERUSALEM in The SKY with a "IRON SCEPTER" Then The GEART WHITE JUDGEMENT, Then WE will also "JUDGE the WHOLE WORLD and THE ANGELS" For we shall be called: "THE Sons of THE LIVING GOD" Manifested Through out All ETERNITY. And so we are
[indicative] "The GLORY of GOD".:pensive: So says "The Holy Scriptures".

PS And i did not read another mans book. concerning any type of "Eschatology"!

I just read my "BIBLE" from front to back, over and over and over again, until it became a part of me. And then Jesus, reveal The Truth and HE, Jesus revealed The Father and Then The Father.:pensive: And I remember clear as day over 35 years ago when i met The Father, I met Jesus and the Holy Spirit and was saved over 44 years ago... But met The FATHER about 35 years ago. And part of the conversation with The FATHER i said something. And HE
SCOLD ME. and said; "WHO TOLD YOU, YOU WAS A CHRISTIAN" and i explain to HIM in full detail the world and pointed to the text and what type of people who created that word. and His respond was not pretty, And HE said; "WHAT DID I CALL YOU"? My reply: "you called me or you referred to me as "your child". AND HE TOOK ME, to another place IN "GOD" and every since, i know HIM, as my Father.:eyes:

The bible does not lie or get it wrong. Men do.:pensive: They will steer you away from "GOD" so you will follow their teachings and make you think, that you need them.
You do not need them, you need "GOD" and there is only one way to get there and it is called "The WAY"! And That is "The TRUTH"

NASB 1977
Jesus said to him, “I am THE WAY, and THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.

WHEN ARE WE RESURRECTED?

When The FATHER sends The SON, to come get us!:eyes:

And in what year was these letters written, How many years after Jesus died and rose,

(2 Tim 3)
NASB 1977
But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.

(Hebrews 1)BSB
1On many past occasions and in many different ways, God spoke to our fathers through the prophets. 2But in these last days He has spokento us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through whom He made theuniverse.

New American Standard Bible (2 Peter 3)
Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with theirmocking, following after their own lusts,

(Jude 1)
New American Standard Bible
that they were saying to you, “In the last time there will be mockers, following after their own ungodly lusts.”

King James Bible (Acts 2:17)
And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

Now what does the term "in the last days" means when speaking concerning the "Biblical Text".
