What’s it like to be a Christian?
What’s your purpose? What’s your mission?
Does your faith make any difference
How you live your life with vigilance?

Are you Christian just in status?
Christian life is not your practice?
Worldly pleasures still your purpose?
Faith in Christ is only surface?

Christian only when it suits you?
Follow Jesus not what you do?
Only going through the motions
When you say you have devotions?

Act like Christian when folks watching?
While the Christian life you’re botching?
Live for selfish sinful pleasures?
Not the truth of God you treasure?

Many people, that’s their status,
Do not put their faith in practice.
Think that Christian gets forgiveness
While obedience not their business.

But the truth, the truth of matter,
Many just give empty chatter,
But their lives, they are no different,
For to Christ they are indifferent.

So we need the truth of story,
Jesus Christ in all His glory
Gave His life, from sin to free us,
So we’d live by faith in freedom.

Sin no longer does control us,
Walk by faith in Christ, with purpose.
Obey God and His commandments,
Live for Jesus, our advancement.

Where do we draw the line?

I believe in "a" Jesus...

He was a good man.
He was a prophet.
* He is the Son of God.
* He is God.

I believe in Jesus, but...

I still do hallucinogenic drugs
I still am living in fornication.
I still am living in adultery.
I still am living in homosexuality.
I still dabble in witch-craft and necromancy.
I still beat my wife and molest children.

I'm a Christian... I don't do any of those things.. but I hate everyone.

I'm a Christian because I believe in God...
and yeah, I'm doing some of those things... but there is grace, there is mercy and God will overlook those things.
I might quit doing them some day, well at least most of them He won't hold just this "one thing" against me. He loves me.

Some people say, well these people were never saved in the first place... well maybe not...

Where do we draw the line on how much sin.. is too much sin?

I used to drink "Lite" beer.
Is there such a thing as a "Lite" Christian?

I drink a little too much, I gamble a little too much, I have gotten a few too many tattoo's since I was saved.
I cuss a little, I take the Lord's name in vain sometimes. I might watch a little pornography every now and then.

But hey, I'm a good person... I never really do any "bad" stuff.
I mean.. it's not like I ever killed anyone... unless you count abortion.

Where do we draw the line?

I don't do any of those things. There was a time many years I did some of those things, and I still called myself a Christian.
But I know a LOT, I know MANY "Christians", (at least they say they are Christians) who do these things everyday...

"after all God is good with it.. right"

I believe if we read the New Testament Scriptures, in their correct context, that we will get a good picture of this. Two things are absolutely clear. The first is that faith in Jesus Christ requires repentance (death to sin) and walks of obedience to our Lord and to his commands or it is not faith which saves. The second is that if sin is what we practice, deliberately and habitually, without conscience, without remorse, and without regard for God and for his commandments, then we don't know God. We are not in fellowship with Christ. And we do not have salvation from sin and eternal life with God. But then there is that area in between. From reading the New Testament writings it is clear that there were Christians who were still holding on to particular sins, but they were warned that if they did not relinquish those sins and obey God that they would not see God. They would not inherit eternal life with God. There were those who fell back into sin and who needed to be revived and brought back to walks of faith in obedience to the Lord. So, it is possible that a genuine follower of Christ might, at some point in their lives, fall back into sin and need to repent and return to the Lord. But it is still clear that if we do not repent, and we continue in deliberate and habitual sin, and not in walks of obedience to our Lord, we will not inherit eternal life with God. And that really is the bottom line. It is not about perfection, but it is about what we practice, and where our heart is, and whether or not our lives are committed to Christ to obey him.

[Matt 7:21-23; Lu 9:23-26; John 6:35-58; John 10:27-30; John 15:1-11; Acts 26:18; Rom 1:18-32; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:1-14; Rom 12:1-2; 1 Co 6:9-10,19-20; 1 Co 10:1-22; 2 Co 5:10,15,21; Gal 5:1-26; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 2:8-10; Eph 4:17-32; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; Col 3:1-17; Titus 2:11-14; 1 John 1:5-10; 1 John 2:3-6,24-25; 1 John 3:4-10; 1 Pet 2:24; Heb 3:1-19; Heb 4:1-13; Heb 10:23-31; Heb 12:1-29; Rev 21:8,27; Rev 22:14-15]

Looking to the foundation of a word helps to understand.

Christian a demonym. . .residents know by location. The eternal city the bride of Christ named in Acts by the Holy Father in respect to the husband Christ the founder of the city

A more befitting name to name the bride of all nations. Previously in Isiah 62 called her Isreal as in born again Israel, not all Israel is born again.

Make the name great again in another of your beautiful poems
