My eyes fail [from seeking] Your salvation And Your righteous word. Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy, And teach me Your statutes. I [am] Your servant; Give me understanding, That I may know Your testimonies. Psalm 119:123-125 NKJV

While waiting for God’s intervention, the psalmist placed himself fully at the Lord’s mercy and resigned himself to trust in His love. Rather than relying on his own wisdom and insight, the psalmist asked the Lord to instruct him and to grant him discernment. In a time of waiting and uncertainty, he turned to God’s unfailing promise to teach and to guide him personally.

There are a lot of sources of salvation to call upon these days, and you may find it helpful to consider whether you are waiting on God to lead you forward. Are you waiting for a financial, professional, or relational change that promises to lead you to a better place?

You don’t know when or how the Lord will intervene in your life. His intervention is beyond your control. While you may be surrounded by people who cast doubt on this strategy, the best thing you can do in a time of waiting is to ask the Lord for wisdom and insight into His Word. You’ll see examples of other people who have waited on God and find instruction to guide your path forward.

Prayer: Lord, guide me and teach me as I wait on Your salvation.
