Hi dear friends

I was reading this online and thought it would be interesting to share here with you all.

Question: "What does the Bible say about angels?"

Answer: Angels are personal spiritual beings, having aspects of intelligence, emotions, and will. This is true of both the good and evil angels. Angels possess intelligence (Matthew 8:29; 2 Corinthians 11:3; 1 Peter 1:12), show emotions (Luke 2:13; James 2:19; Revelation 12:17), and demonstrate that they have wills (Luke 8:28-31: 2 Timothy 2:26; Jude 6). Angels are spirit beings (Hebrews 1:14), with no true physical body. The fact that they do not have bodies does not affect their being personalities (any more than it does with God).

The knowledge angels possess is limited by their being created beings. This means they do not know all things as God does (Matthew 24:36). They do seem to have greater knowledge than humans, however. This may be due to three causes. (1) Angles were created as a higher order of creatures in the universe than humans are. Therefore, innately they possess greater knowledge. (2) Angels study the Bible and the world more thoroughly than humans do and gain knowledge from it (James 2:19; Revelation 12:12). (3) Angels gain knowledge through long observation of human activities. Unlike humans, angels do not have to study the past; they have experienced it. Therefore, they know how others have acted and reacted in situations and can predict with a greater degree of accuracy how we may act in similar circumstances.

Though they have wills, the angels are, like all creatures, subject to the will of God. Good angels are sent by God to help believers (Hebrews 1:14). Here are some activities the Bible ascribes to angels:

A. They praise God (Psalm 148:1,2; Isaiah 6:3).

B. They worship God (Hebrews 1:6; Revelation 5:8-13).

C. They rejoice in what God does (Job 38:6-7).

D. They serve God (Psalm 103:20; Revelation 22:9).

E. They appear before God (Job 1:6; 2:1).

F. They are instruments of God's judgments (Revelation 7:1; 8:2).

G. They bring answers to prayer (Acts 12:5-10).

H. They aid in winning people to Christ (Acts 8:26; 10:3).

I. They observe Christian order, work, and suffering (1 Corinthians 4:9; 11:10; Ephesians 3:10; 1 Peter 1:12).

J. They encourage in times of danger (Acts 27:23,24).

K. They care for the righteous at the time of death (Luke 16:22).

Angels are entirely a different order of being than humans. Human beings do not become angels after they die. Angels will never become, and never were, human beings. God created the angels, just as He created humanity. The Bible nowhere states that angels are created in the image and likeness of God, as humans are (Genesis 1:26). Angels are spiritual beings that can, to a certain degree, take on physical form. Humans are primarily physical beings, but with a spiritual aspect. The greatest thing we can learn from the angels is their instant, unquestioning obedience to God’s commands.

Hey ladyloves Jesus

Good post. Jesus did say that we would be like the angels. Wonder what this means, in context with your thread?

# Matthew 22:30 (Whole Chapter)
At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

# Mark 12:25 (Whole Chapter)
When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.

# Luke 20:36 (Whole Chapter)
and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection.

I am a little confused about these passages. A lot of married people have set their hopes on being married to their spouse, (especially after one spouse dies). What do you think will happen?

God bless your goodness. Amen:Pixie:sun:

I have been told that in heaven there will be no marriages. In answer to your question pixie, here is what i just found for you.

Question: "Will there be marriage in heaven?"

Answer: The Bible tells us, “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven” (Matthew 22:30). This was Jesus’ answer in response to a question concerning a woman who had been married multiple times in her life – who would she be married to in heaven (Matthew 22:23-28)? Evidently, there will be no such thing as marriage in heaven. This does not mean that a husband and wife will not longer know each other in heaven. This also does not mean that a husband and wife could not still have a close relationship in heaven. What it does seem to indicate, though, is that a husband and wife will no longer be married in heaven. There is likely no purpose for marriage in heaven since there is no procreation or loneliness.

Really good read sister LadylovesJesus, thank you for sharing this with us.

Sister pixie, I believe Jesus is clear in what He says and He will not let us suffer in heaven, I think once we become "like" angels, we will see that we have a new life in God and this life is not the same as being married on earth. I agree with that article, the act of marriage won't be done in heaven, but it doesn't say the wife and husband will not have a close relationship.

God bless you

Hey wait a sec.

Jesus, how come You get to marry? I love You Jesus....so how come eh?
Jesus, You are my Brother of joy. You are my King of Peace. You are the light in my eyes. You are the smile on my face.
Lord Father, how come Jesus gets to marry? Eh Father? Seems a little one sided. Just kidding Father. Father, You get that church ready. We sure are waiting for it.

Love from Your Pixie::love: :sun: :rainbow:

Luke 5:34 (Whole Chapter)
Jesus answered, "Can you make the guests of the bridegroom fast while he is with them?

Revelation 19:7 (Whole Chapter)
Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

Sister, we have to remember there are 2 different places, heaven and earth. Marriage is fine on earth, and Jesus' bride is on earth, but when we go to heaven, we won't be His bride or His wife, we'll be changed, "like" angels.

I hope we could all learn to accept, that when God says Yes, we should not say No.

1 Corinthians 2:8-10
8None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. 9However, as it is written:
"No eye has seen,
no ear has heard,
no mind has conceived
what God has prepared for those who love him"— 10but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit.
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

God bless you

Pixie hope this answers your question here.

God bless your inquisitive mind today. :rose: :rainbow:

Good post. Jesus did say that we would be like the angels. Wonder what this means, in context with your thread?

Question: "Do we become angels after we die?"

Answer: As I read the Bible, angels are beings created by God (cf. Colossians 1:15-17). In this passage Christ is the agent of creation (Colossians 1:12-17). Angels are entirely different from humans. They are God’s special agents to carry out His plan and to minister to followers of Christ (Hebrews 1:13-14).

Humans are created in the image of God to serve and enjoy Him forever. Adam and Eve represented the human race. They, however, yielded to Satan’s temptation, sinned, and thusly needed God’s redemption. Eventually, Christ came – God with us – the God-man – to do for us what we can not do for ourselves, namely provide us forgiveness and eternal life through His death and bodily resurrection. Those who accept Christ as Savior, receive Christ’s new life, resurrection life, along with Christ indwelling them spiritually. Now the believer in Christ can have fellowship with God and serve Him even giving a cup of cold water in His name.

By the way, it is well to note that angels, not being of the human race, cannot experience the redemption that Christ came to provide the human race. I refer you to 1 Peter 1:12, where they desire to look into the gospel, but it is not for them to experience. Yes, they rejoice when a sinner turns to Christ (Luke 15:10), but salvation in Christ is not for them.

Eventually, the body of the believer in Christ will die. What happens then? The spirit or personality of the believer goes to be with Christ (2 Corinthians 5:8). The believer does not become an angel. It’s interesting that both Elijah and Moses were recognizable on the Mount of Transfiguration. Perhaps believers take on a temporary "body" while in the presence of the Lord after death waiting the return of Christ.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 tells us that believers in Christ are asleep in Jesus, that is they are resting in Him but very much alive, for one who is sleeping is not dead but alive. In this text it tells us that when Christ returns, He will bring with Him those who are asleep in Him and then their bodies will be raised, made new like unto Christ’s resurrected body, to be joined with the personalities He brings with Him. All believers in Christ who are living at the return of Christ will have their bodies changed to be like Christ and they will be completely new in their personalities having no sin nature.

All the believers in Christ will recognize one another and live with the Lord forever. We will serve Him throughout eternity. Thank the Lord for the living hope He provides for the believer in Jesus Christ. I trust that you know Him as your personal Savior and are living for Him.

God will transform me

Thank you both. I was kind of joking about Heavenly marriage. If the Lord wills it, then it will be. I am not grown yet, but I am growing in Christ our Lord. He will teach as I pray and guide me with the Holy Spirit.
Eternal Father, I am blessed to know You. Please teach me Your will and the will of Your beloved Son. I wait upon You oh Lord, so that You will make me perfect in Your sight. Please allow Your tender Helper, the Holy Spirit, show what is just and true.

Psalm 27:9 (Whole Chapter)
Do not hide your face from me, do not turn your servant away in anger; you have been my helper. Do not reject me or forsake me, O God my Savior.

Galatians 5:22 (Whole Chapter)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Lord instill in me a patience, to wait upon Your word and to know right from wrong. Deliver me oh Lord and I shall be free.

God bless you and Amen:Pixie:love: :sun: :rainbow:

You are very welcome pixie and we are all learning every day. Nobody is perfect nor will we be until we get to heaven.

I learnt something new today. It was a wow revelation. Praise God and i posted the message on here too. Others I hope will be blessed too.

God bless you sister pixie  :rainbow: :rose:

The Church of true believers is the Bride of Christ

Actually we do marry Christ in a way.

When we get to heaven the Church, made up of true believers, will celebrate the wedding of the Lamb; and we are his bride! See Revelation 19:7-9

This becomes more clear when we compare these verses in Revelation with Ephesians 5:25-32. In Ephesians, this passage talks about earthly marriage and compares it with the unity of Christ and His Church. Verse 31-32 says:

For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united with his wife...This is a profound mystery - but I am talking about Christ and the Church.

We will have an even closer relationship with Christ in the future.

Paul writes to the Corinthian Church and says that he wants to present them as a pure virgin to Jesus. He wants them to be pure in their devotion to Christ. He speaks of Christ as our husband. See 2 Corinthians 11:2-3

(We will be like angels only in the sense that we will no longer have any use, or need, for sexual relations when we are in heaven. Also, there is absolutely no evidence that Jesus was married when He was on earth. He was here for a mission, and completely dedicated to it. He came to save us from our sins. His self-sacrificing and selfless mission would have been incompatible with marriage and family. Lastly, Roman Catholic nuns are not really the bride of Christ, even though they may refer to themselves in that way)

I hope this helps
