What Does God Mean When He Mentions the Days of Noah?

But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Why did God destroy all of mankind except for nine people?

The days of Noah are mentioned in the 3 passages below.

Matt 24:32; “Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near;
Matt 24:33; so, you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near, right at the door.
Matt 24:34; Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place.
Matt 24:35; Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.
Matt 24:36; “But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but the Father alone.
Matt 24:37; For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah.
Matt 24:38; For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark,
Matt 24:39; and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.
Matt 24:40; Then there will be two men in the field; one will be taken and one will be left.
Matt 24:41; Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken and one will be left.

Luke 17:22; And He said to the disciples, “The days will come when you will long to see one of the days of the Son of Man, and you will not see it.
Luke 17:23; They will say to you, ‘Look there! Look here!’ Do not go away, and do not run after them.
Luke 17:24; For just like the lightning, when it flashes out of one part of the sky, shines to the other part of the sky, so will the Son of Man be in His day.
Luke 17:25; But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.
Luke 17:26; And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:
Luke 17:27; they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:28; It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;
Luke 17:29; but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.
Luke 17:30; It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
Luke 17:31; On that day, the one who is on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back.
Luke 17:32; Remember Lot’s wife.
Luke 17:33; Whoever seeks to keep his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.
Luke 17:34; I tell you, on that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other will be left.
Luke 17:35; There will be two women grinding at the same place; one will be taken and the other will be left.
Luke 17:36; [Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other will be left.”]
Luke 17:37; And answering they *said to Him, “Where, Lord?” And He said to them, “Where the body is, there also the vultures will be gathered.”

1 Pet 3:18 For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, so that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
1 Pet 3:19; in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison,
1 Pet 3:20; who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.
1 Pet 3:21; Corresponding to that, baptism now saves you—not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
1 Pet 3:22; who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, after angels and authorities and powers had been subjected to Him.

To me this is a warning. Life will will be going on usual, people will not be expecting it to happen.
But when it does happen we need to be ready... there are several other verses that mention being watchful, alert, sober, on the lookout, and ready. Some of these verses mention those who want to go back and grab some of their possessions, but I
think the point of those verses is that we have to give up our earthly things and life in order to receive an eternal life.

The other point.. specifically made in Peter .. about a few (specifically 8 people)
Is that "most" people won't be ready. The bridegroom will return like a thief in the night, when people are (spiritually)
asleep. The virgins who ran out of oil weren't ready. We can't turn back to get more oil at that point.
If God was willing to wipeout the entire earth (except for a few souls) back then, do you think He will hesitate
to wipeout the entire earth again? Those who are not believers, obedient, and looking for His return?

What were the days of Noah like?

Genesis 6:5; Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Genesis 6:6; The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.
Genesis 6:7; The Lord said, “I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land, from man to animals to creeping things and to birds of the sky; for I am sorry that I have made them.

This sounds much like the state of mankind today. There are hints here of things to look for. Of how things will be when Christ returns.

How many will be saved? Is it the majority?

Matt 7:13; “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
Matt 7:14; For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Or is it just a few? They asked Jesus this very question, and this was His answer.

Luke 13:23; And someone said to Him, “Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?” And He said to them,
Luke 13:24; “Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.
Luke 13:25; Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’
Luke 13:26; Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets’;
Luke 13:27; and He will say, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from; depart from Me, all you evildoers.’

MANY find the way to destruction...
FEW find the way to life... (this includes those who think they are Christians).

How many is a few? I don't know... but if the population of the earth is somewhere close to 7 billion.
10% might be considered a few... but that's still 70 million!!
So verses like Rev 7:9; could be taken as a lot of people... but compared to the population of the earth.. it will be few.

Keep in mind.. 10% is strictly a guess I'm throwing out there. I do not know the exact number.

What do you see here?

Genesis 6 (CJB)
6 In time, when men began to multiply on earth, and daughters were born to them, 2 the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were attractive; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose. 3 Adonai said, “My Spirit will not live in human beings forever, for they too are flesh; therefore their life span is to be 120 years.” 4 The N’filim were on the earth in those days, and also afterwards, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them; these were the ancient heroes, men of renown.

(Maftir) 5 Adonai saw that the people on earth were very wicked, that all the imaginings of their hearts were always of evil only. 6 Adonai regretted that he had made humankind on the earth; it grieved his heart. 7 Adonai said, “I will wipe out humankind, whom I have created, from the whole earth; and not only human beings, but animals, creeping things and birds in the air; for I regret that I ever made them.” 8 But Noach found grace in the sight of Adonai.
9 Here is the history of Noach. In his generation, Noach was a man righteous and wholehearted; Noach walked with God. 10 Noach fathered three sons, Shem, Ham and Yefet. 11 The earth was corrupt before God, the earth was filled with violence. 12 God saw the earth, and, yes, it was corrupt; for all living beings had corrupted their ways on the earth.

I believe the "son of God" here are angels. I believe the "daughters of men" here are human.
I believe the angels mingled with humans to create the giants (Nephilim).
It's possible some of these were killed in the flood, but there are still some Giants around in David's
time. I also believe it's possible that these are the angels held in bondage in Jude. It does
say that they left their proper abode, and went after "strange" (human) flesh.

How about this?
Genesis 6:8-10 (KJV)
8 But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.

9 These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.

10 And Noah begat three sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Noah was just Noah was righteous in God's sight...Noah was perfect?! He never sinned? No. Not so...perfect in his generations. Wow There were giants in the land, nephilim,

All humanity was corrupted but Noah was not and his family was not..Eight people were not corrupted by crossbreeding with these creatures, while the rest of the world was. So.....here is a good reason why God would destroy all life on the planet because people were evil.... If this is not true...Why has God not destroyed all life on the planet like this time? He promised not to do it by water again but there are endless ways He could have done it other than by water.....

I've read estimates of how many people were alive when the flood came, the lowest figure I found after 10 minutes searching, about 200,000. Being probably very conservative by taking that number, 8 people represented 0.004% of all. Today that could hint that only 280,000 out of 7 billion would be found worthy of saving at the last opportunity. That's a sobering thought!

The text doesn't indicate all daughters of men were taken by the fallen angels, but we know some were, producing many "Conan the Barbarian" types raging across the land, vying for rulership, kings of violence, begetting giants. Imagine the violence then....

History will be repeated, imitating those wicked times in Gen 6, mostly the world simply thinking wickedly, without daughters taken by fallen angels (still locked up until the end of the 1,000 years of Jesus' reign), so without mighty men of renown. None of that would be worse than our future considering the decline in morality led by our government, if there is no significant revival. The days of Noah could be well underway, men declining normal relationships with daughters of men, men defiling men. It's far worse than Nephilim taking women, which is of course bad enough. The earth is filling with violence, with potential of violence multiplied many times due to the extreme population without Christ.

It's amazing all right. In my rambles around the net I've discovered that there is, most likely, a population of giants who run an average height of 18 to 20 feet tall alive today, and living in the south east portion of the globe. It was discovered by the soldiers of second world war when many soldiers of America and Japan were eaten. Obviously no scripture to back this one up. World scientists and military are trying to militarize the giant genome.

Steve Quayle is like the mother of modern day false prophets. A lot of this stuff sounds like direct quotes from him.

Wouldn't touch that guy with a ten and a half foot pole.

Ok I'll accept your opinion on Steve Quayle Travis.....If you can tell me why. Convince me I've done research of my own...What he said about giants today is true so far as I can see

Steve Quayle is bad news bears.

He's not a false prophet for believing that fallen angels mated with human women in the pre-flood era, according to Genesis 6. Neither even necessarily for his claims about giants today. Those claims about giants of today are just shoddy research and bad scholarship is all, and not edifying to anyone. Especially given what all else he teaches.

Steve spreads ungodly fear, liken to ringworm in it's level of contagion, and his followers feed on it and spread it to others. Not too many years ago he made claims that certain seals of Revelation have been opened, and trumpets have been blown, and that we are well into the timeline of the end times and right on the edge of entering the Great Tribulation. He constantly promotes prophetic words of others who claim dates, times, and events, and the doom that will happen with regard to these, which never come to pass. He never even apologies when it doesn't even come close to coming to pass.

Steve constantly hypes about how gold and silver are your only insulation from the doom and destruction that are always immanently on our doorstep. How convenient that his business is centered around just that, precious metals. No bias there at all. Gold and silver aren't inherently bad to own, but Steve is a absolute fraud and loves to separate naive Christians from their money, especially 401k and retirement money.

Steve will cuss out and curse those who question or confront him. His character is shameful. His own family won't even have anything to do with all the nonsense he promotes. Even they know what a sham it all is.

You said "He's not a false prophet for believing that fallen angels mated with human women in the pre-flood era, according to Genesis 6."

Ok Genesis 6 says that it happened...The research for giants today is anecdotal at best, I agree, but its there and has not been disproved. Pterodactyls on New Guinea have not been disproved though there is plenty of anecdotal evidence for them. Sasquatch has not been disproved, Loch Ness Ogopogo, Chupacabra, and other creatures on the Earth who have never been proven, yet the majority of people believe their existence, all on anecdotal evidence Steve Quayle is not the only one to speak about giants alive today.
I don't know about the other stuff you say on Steve Quayle. I do know, though, that what he says agrees with many other people and with the Word. Of course there will be mistakes but most of what all of these people say overall agrees and explains many unanswered questions

Have you ever looked at myths like, mermaids, centaurs, the kraken, and such? All legends are based in fact. This being the case..there must have been such creatures at one time. In legends of some of the American indians their old ones tell of hunting the mammoth, and that in the memory of recent ancestors. It would seem that those giants died out just recently.

I said he is not a heretic for believing angels mated with human women in genesis chapter 6, because that is the plain reading of the text. The Sethite theory is nonsensical.

Giants is not my issue with Quayle. His lack of scholarship regarding giants alive in today's world is symptomatic of many of his larger issues, namely a phenomenal lack of evidence for just about anything he says.

I'm not sure that this Sethite theory is? I've heard one that says Seth was Melchisidec? I know that one is rot
