I have been a christian for a really long time and I have achieved a nice relationship with God but sometimes when I pray I just dont know what to say, and when I read the bible I just dont know where to read and I believe that my spiritual life is decreasing instead od increasing, and I dont know what to do, cause I know a lot of things about bible but it is very dificult for me to seek God and to do what bible says...

anyway... does anybody have an advice about How to read the bible or how can I study the bible?

or how can I get closer to God?

Dear colombiandavid, Just before visiting your thread, i was reading a amazing testimony from a friend, i just copy and pasted it here. (Ignore the languages you don't understand)

For the past little while I have never been able to enjoy a passionate prayer....mostly I don't feel like praying and even when I do, it is mechanical and more like work than fellowship with the Lord. My wife just called me at work today and she said last night I was praying in tongues. I have no clue what she is talking about. As far as I know I had a good night's sleep.

I don't know how you interpret that but for me the first thing that came to mind was Romans 8:26. It says: "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us"

That is how I interpret it. I knew my prayers were sort of keTara yemayalf type but the Spirit I have in me is the Spirit of the living God who never sleeps even when I do because the Bible says...he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep......Ineho esraeln yemiTebiq aytegnam, ayanqelafam.

I can't tell you how uplifting that is....

It was really helpful, sometimes we forgot How amazing is our heavenly Father, that testimony was really touching for me, the holy spirit is great and he´s been teaching me all along!!
