When your tired eyes heed not the seduction of sleep
When your melancholy heart languishes and weeps
When your soul is weary with the burdens you carry
Call my name and I will come to you.
Gently I will hold you and in my love will safely keep
The treasures of your heart.
When disquietude fashions the path unknown
When your heart would seem to endure alone
When words cannot be expressed
Call my name and I will come to you.
Quietly I will stand beside you and guide you home
To a sanctuary of peace.
When your strength appears to dissipate
When joy no longer anticipates
The enchantment of each step to be taken
Call my name and I will come to you.
I will caress your soul with my own and alleviate
The sorrows of your heart.
When your nights are long
When the opulence of life is gone
When your days have grown dismal
Call my name and I will come to you.
Tenderly shall I replenish your heart with joyful song
And bring forth the light within you.
I wrote this two years before I accepted Christ. I read these words now, and I humbly stand in awe of what God can/will do. His grace, His love and His forgiveness are indescribable. And even then, after all I had done/said; in that horrible darkness, He still whispered my name.
But as I always say, the best place to be is at the bottom of the barrel, for there is only one way to go/look...and that's up.
He is worthy.
