II Corinthians 5:20-21 “Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us; we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.”

Whenever I go to speak to people in a place where they do not understand my language, I use someone to “speak for me” - an interpreter. I need someone who can understand what I am saying and can then speak it to the people in their language so that they will understand what I am saying.

When I use someone to “speak for me”, there is one thing that is very important in helping people understand what I am saying. I want them to “say it like I say it”. In other words, if I am talking with a loud voice, in order to make a strong point, I want them to talk with a loud voice. Why? Because they are not talking for themselves, they are talking for me!

Want to know what we are to do now that we have been reconciled to God? Yes, we are New Creations in Christ, old things of the old creation have ended, everything is new (II Cor. 5:17-19). But, the purpose for keeping us on this earth with all of this wonderful new life in Christ is much bigger than your own life. GOD WANTS TO USE YOU TO SPEAK TO THE WORLD !

Who are you speaking for? There is one way to know for sure. Check out what you are saying and how you are saying it. When you speak, God wants others to understand what He is sayin to them, through Jesus Christ. That means that you may have to say things you’ve never said before, in a way you’ve never said them. Instead of , “I don’ know what to do”, you’ll hear yourself say, “let me pray for you”. Instead of, “that’s impossible”, you’ll say, with a strong voice of faith, “nothing is too hard for God”!

Jesus did not have any sin of His own, He was made our sin, so that we could become the righteousness of God in Him (vs. 21). Sometimes, it’s hard for us to say this verse. We don’t understand how God could do something so radical. Jesus, exchanging places with sinful people, so that we could become sharers of His righteousness. We don’t want to say something that “strong”. But God wants you to speak for Him, so that the world will understand what He has done.

It is Righteousness that produces right living, and not right living that produces righteousness. The power to live right comes from being made right, in Christ Jesus, which is the way God says it. Remember, you are not talking for yourselves, you are talking for your God! Say it like He wants to say it!
