The Power of Words<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

-àSticks and stones may break your bones but words will never hurt you

Verbal Communication is when we interact with one another through speech
I) Eph <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:time Minute="29" Hour="16">4:29</st1:time> let no corrupt communications proceed out of your mouth. You can’t just say anything because your words have power. In the natural you can hurt someone’s feelings or you can encourage someone. In the spiritual words have the ability to bring forth things in the natural. When we proclaim God’s word over something it’s called a confession. The Bible says in Rom 4:17 to speak those things that are not as though they were. So I want to tell you don’t let your situation determine your confession, let your confession determine your situation.
II)Where does our speech come from? Matt 12:34-35 what we put in our hearts and our mind is what will eventually come out of our mouths. What we meditate on or what we think about makes a difference in what we will eventually say and the words we speak can be used for us or against us and unlike Miranda rights we are charged to speak life not remain silent . col. 3:1-2, our desires should be above worldly things amplified says set your mind and keep them set on things above ----àlook at your neighbor and say my mind is made up. phil. 2:5 in john 1:1 it says Jesus is the word so this is saying to me that my thought need to line up with the word .
III) Thoughts turn to speech, speech to attitude, attitude to actions, actions to habits, habits determine character and your character ultimately determines your destiny . But we are to have the character of Christ. One way to keep our thoughts in check is 2 Cor. 10:5 our thoughts should line up with the word of God if not we need to speak the word of God and this will momentarily stop that thought. And if need be keep speaking that word when the enemy attacked Jesus he spoke the word and he couldn’t do any thing with him.
IV) As Christians we are called to monitor what we say also (matt <st1:time Minute="37" Hour="12">12:37</st1:time>). Every thing that comes out of our mouths has a direct impact on our circumstances. (Proverbs 18:21) We can speak life by being encouraging. We can speak death by being discouraging. Our speech should be full of faith and positive and it should not be negative or complaining. Jesus spoke and said it is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a man but what comes out. We must therefore be careful of what we say. Words are like seeds in our life and what we say determines what will manifest.
i) In vs. 20 it says that a man shall eat of the fruit of his lips this verse also explains how vital what we say is.
ii) We need to glorify God in word and deed and of course you know we should not be using profanity at all . matt. 26:69-74 peter used profanity and convinced these people accusing him of knowing jesus that he did not know the Lord and it it also says no to let currpupt speech and profanity come out of our mouths over in another scripure too

Bigger letters so we can read...good post

Same post: bigger letters Wordzpitta, I like this post but I had a hard time reading the tiny letters, so I took it upon myself to put in in bigger font. I appreciate the post; it helps me and I think it will help others.
