Was there another way for God to save man other than the cross?

Was there another way for God to save man other than the cross?

It is interesting that Jesus while praying in the garden of Gethsemane ask his Father.....

Luke 22:42 Saying, Father, IF THOU BE WILLING, REMOVE THIS CUP FROM ME: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

In the Gospel of Mark it says......

Mar 14:36 And he said, Abba, Father, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE UNTO THEE; TAKE AWAY THIS CUP FROM ME: nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt.

Jesus knew ALL things were possible with God, so he asks his Father to take away the cup of suffering he was about to go through, but Jesus knew it was his Fathers will that he finish the work his Father had prepared for him. The work, and plan of the cross was predetermined by God's counsel before the foundation of the world. The Apostle Paul said......

Act 4:27 For in this city there actually met and plotted together against Your holy Child and Servant Jesus, Whom You consecrated by anointing, both Herod and Pontius Pilate with the Gentiles and peoples of Israel,
Act 4:28 TO CARRY OUT ALL THAT YOUR HAND AND YOUR WILL AND PURPOSE HAD PREDESTINED (PREDETERMINED) SHOULD OCCUR. (AMP)

The cross was the only way to bring salvation to men who were lost in their sins, and Jesus would be the one whom the wrath of God would fall upon to satisfy the penalty for the worlds sins.

While in the garden of Gethsemane Jesus felt the pressure of the sins of the world being placed upon him, and knowing what was about to come upon him in his scourging (flogging), and being crucified.
The scripture says Jesus was under great pressure, and he sweated great drops of blood!!

Luke 22:44 And being in an agony he (Jesus) prayed more earnestly: and HIS SWEAT WAS AS IT WERE GREAT DROPS OF BLOOD FALLING DOWN TO THE GROUND.

It is very interesting that the garden of Gethsemane was located on the "Mount of Olives” The name, “ Gethsemane” means, “Oil press” The first four letters “Geth” means, “press”, and the letters, “Semane” means, “oil”. Jesus was under great pressure to complete his mission which caused him to sweat great drops of blood!! What we really don't read from the four Gospels we find in the book of Hebrews.

Heb 5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications WITH STRONG CRYING AND TEARS UNTO HIM THAT WAS ABLE TO SAVE HIM FROM DEATH, and was heard in that he feared;

Jesus prayed with STRONG crying with tears unto his Father who was able to save him from death. Jesus was NOT afraid to die, what he wanted from his Father was keep him alive so he could finish, and complete his Fathers will!!! Most persons who were scourged with whips back in those day usually died from their wounds. What would have happened if Jesus died before his crucifixion? Salvation would not have been completed. Jesus was flogged and whipped to the point of being unrecognized more than any man!!!

Isa 52:13 Behold, my servant shall act wisely; he shall be high and lifted up, and shall be exalted.
Isa 52:14 As many were astonished at you— HIS APPEARANCE WAS SO MARRED, BEYOND HUMAN SEMBLANCE, and his form beyond that of the children of mankind—

Jesus suffered more than any man in history. Imagine, the sins of mankind in the area of most likely 100 billion+ people being laid upon just one man who was sinless, and did not deserve any of it. No human being could ever accomplish that task unles he was the Son of God made flesh!

2Co 5:21 For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ. (NLT)

Rom 8:31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?
Rom 8:32 Since HE DID NOT SPARE EVEN HIS OWN SON BUT GAVE HIM UP FOR US ALL, WON'T HE ALSO GIVE US EVERYTHING ELSE?
