“I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay,
And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.
He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God;
Many will see and fear
And will trust in the Lord.
How blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust,
And has not turned to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood.” (Psalm 40:1-4 NASB1995)

Now this is really interesting that Psalm 40 should be the passage of Scripture for today, and that it should begin with, “I waited patiently for the Lord.” For 3 days ago the Lord spoke to me twice through Psalm 27:14 to “Wait for the Lord.” And yesterday a family member shared how recently the Lord had spoken to her 3 times from Isaiah 40:31, which also talks about waiting for the Lord. “Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength.” So this is my third time recently he has said to me, “Wait for the Lord.”

For me, over a month ago now, I all of a sudden got this severe pain in my chest right where my heart is located, and that was followed by difficulty in breathing, and pain in my left arm which did not go away. So I went to the ER at a local hospital and they discovered the tumor in my left lung, which had been there since 2014, had almost doubled in size. And this tumor is right next to where my heart is located, and it can definitely be what is causing my difficulty in breathing (breathing at 44% out of 100% capacity), the sharp chest pains, and the heart failure which I am also experiencing.

My medical doctor ordered a series of tests for me, to check on various body functions of concern. Two of the tests came back clear and two did not. The two that did not are the breathing issues and the mild heart failure. From just a natural and practical viewpoint, it appears that the only solution for these issues is to have the tumor physically removed via surgery. But they have to test first to see if it is cancerous, for that could change things. But that doesn’t mean at all that this is God’s plan. And I have prayed for healing, but I always include, “Nevertheless, not my will but Thine be done.”

I want God’s will for my life to be done above all else. And I am not putting my dependency in medical doctors for my healing, either. So many of them want you on drugs, and I don’t take pharmaceuticals. I believe the Lord has been taking me through this trial, involving these tests, to test my faith, to try me, and to test my patience, and to teach me to endure, and perhaps to get me ready for even harder trials yet to come, which are bound to come, the way things are going on in my nation and in the world today.

I am at peace. I am not fearful. I know my life is in the hands of God and if he wants me to live longer, I will live, but if it is my time for him to take me home, then I will no longer be on this earth. I know he has lessons he wants to teach me through all of this, and so I am listening for his voice to teach me what I need to learn through it all. I know I am to wait on him and to not be anxious, and that I am doing. I am waiting on him to act, but while I am waiting I am continuing in what he has called me to do in writing down what he teaches me each day, and then to share it on the internet.

Hello @Sue J Love,

Thank you for sharing.

The advantage of getting older is that we have a longer retrospective view, and can therefore see clearly the hand of God in our lives over the years, and I am very grateful for it. Into my mind comes the words of 1 Peter 1:6 & 7: but looking it up I realise that I must extend my quotation to include the context for it is so lovely:-

'Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again
unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
To an inheritance incorruptible,
.. and undefiled,
.... and that fadeth not away,
...... reserved in heaven for you,
........ Who are kept by the power of God
.......... through faith unto salvation
............ ready to be revealed in the last time.
Wherein ye greatly rejoice,
though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness
through manifold temptations:(trials)
That the trial of your faith,
being much more precious than of gold that perisheth,
though it be tried with fire,
might be found unto praise and honour and glory
at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
Whom having not seen, ye love;
in Whom, though now ye see Him not,
yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
Receiving the end of your faith,
even the salvation of your souls.
Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently,
who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
Searching what, or what manner of time
the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify,
when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ,
and the glory that should follow.
Unto Whom it was revealed,
that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister
the things, which are now reported unto you
by them that have preached the gospel unto you
with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven;
which things the angels desire to look into.'
(1Pet. 1:3-12)

* There is another scripture trying to come to the forefront of my mind, oh, yes, the words of Paul in 2 Cor. 12:8-10:-

' For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me.
And He said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee:
for My strength is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities,
that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities,
in reproaches,
.. in necessities,
.... in persecutions,
...... in distresses
........ for Christ's sake:
.......... for when I am weak,
............ then am I strong.;
(2 Co 12:8-10 )

* My elder sister has been widowed now for about five years, and I have witnessed the Lord's hand in her life, which has been the cause of praise to God continually, for she has not found widowhood easy to cope with, and has had to be hospitalised on several occasions because of her own ill health. Yet the whole process has been one of learning, of coming to know God experientially, and has produced a living testimony, one that is not only heard, but witnessed first hand by those of her acquaintance. So that her infirmities have rebounded to God's glory time and again.

May your experience be a blessing too, Sue: for yourself, and for those who know you: and may God's will for you be fully done, for His name and glory's sake; and for your comfort and joy in the spirit.

Within the love of Christ our Saviour,
our Lord and Head.

'And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God,
and into the patient waiting for Christ.'
(2Thess 3:5)

* In the margin of my Bible the words, 'for Christ', are changed to, 'in Christ': either is appropriate isn't it? In that we are indeed waiting for His appearing in glory, when we too will appear with Him there (Col. 3:4), but are also sharing in His patient waiting for that day to come, for we are 'in' Him. Praise God!

Chris, thank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words of encouragement, and for sharing those Scriptures with me, too. God bless you. Sue

' If in this life only we have hope in Christ,
we are of all men most miserable. '
(1Co 15:19)

Paul knew what it was to suffer at the hands of his fellow man, and also to suffer with an infirmity, which God did not take from Him, using it as a means of drawing him closer to Himself.
Having the hope of resurrection life, for the believer, is a wonderful blessing isn't it? For though, like all men, we experience the dying of the body, for flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor. 15:50): Yet we have the hope of resurrection life awaiting us, in that day of God's choosing; Our bodies having gone back to the dust, Our spirit (or breath of life) having gone back to God Who gave it (Eccles. 12:7) and sleep in Christ (1 Cor. 15:18), Who is the Father of spirits (Heb.12:9): Where we await the resurrection, when we will receive bodies that are like unto Christ's glorious body (Phil. 3:21), and receive the promise of God, which is life through His Name (John 20:31).

Thank you, again,

Hello @sue J Love,

I apologise now in advance, for I realise that the subject of my last entry is one which you will not be in agreement with me on, for we have talked about this subject in the past. I have not entered it to cause you distress, but to rejoice with you because we share with Paul (1 Cor. 15:19) the hope of resurrection life, which makes the loss of this life easier to bear.

Thank you
In Christ Jesus
Chris
