In the first part....Focus= The Word. Its past present and future. The cross is just where Jesus died and I died. Now I can focus on Him. The Word.

You Can never seperate Christ from the Cross,,,that was his whole lifes mission, before the foundation of the world.... pauline doctrine teaches that the Cross is what we are to preach 1Cor 1:23, 1Cor 2:2, Gal 6:14,,,, when pauls talks about the Cross he is not talking about a wooden beam,,,,but what jesus would do there for humaity, the finished work,,,,the word is great but thats not where your redemption was paid for...it is a good thing to foucus on the word, every christian should,,,but it won't bring you the victory

How can this be? Jesus is the Word. If He cannot give me victory, nothing can. I cannot separate Jesus from His Word. The cross was the first step of what He came to do for me/us. Still its an ongoing thing. His dying on the cross was not all He came to do.

Just some thoughts:
Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
In my experience there is only one way to have victory over that flesh:
Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Jesus Christ was the perfect example of this; He only did what He saw the Father do; He only spoke what He heard the Father say and all that only in the power of the Holy Spirit. He walked (though God) as a man to demonstrate for us what it meant to be lead of the Spirit of God completely denying self and preferring the will of God. It is after all only with the revelation of the Holy Spirit that one can really comprehend the cross, the Word, the heart of God and etc.
Rom 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
It is as He teaches us that the Word is opened.
It is as He leads us God's will is done.
It is as He empowers us that we overcome.
All else is flesh.
But when one walks in union and communion with the Holy Spirit:
Joh 7:38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Joh 7:39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
The Words that one speaks bring life, that very life of the Vine flows through him and unto those around him.

He is alive today and introducing Himself to folks worlwide....Just as dramatically as he did to Saul of Tarsus....as Saul was breathing out threatening and slaughter......
