A psaIm of Ethan Ezrahite. I will sing of the LORD's unfailing love forever! Young and old will hear of your faithfulness. Your unfailing love will last forever. Your faithfulness is as enduring as the heavens. Psalm 89:1-2 NLT
Psalm 89, written by a man named, Ethan, includes accounts of many troubles, but the writer starts with this wonderful premise: “I will sing of the Lord’s unfailing love forever!”
When you are going through difficulties—as every man living on this earth most certainly does!—do you allow yourself to feel down and defeated? Do you find yourself grumbling and complaining? Well, Ethan had a better—much better—approach to staying grounded during tough times: focusing on and speaking about God’s goodness.
Part of living a steadfast life of faith is focusing on God’s amazing love and faithfulness…and then giving voice to what you see. Ethan didn’t see his joy and gratitude as something to keep under his hat. He wanted others—young and old alike—to hear about God’s goodness, love, and faithfulness. What can you do today to follow the psalmist’s example?
Prayer: Lord, You are so good to me in every way, and I thank You for the privilege of speaking words of praise and thanksgiving for Your unfailing love. May I speak those words so others will hear them and learn of Your goodness.
