Trust In The Lord

Active
How is a believer to trust in The Lord when He is a spiritual being (invisible by sight to the natural senses)? When a person becomes born again, they really believe they've entered into Heaven itself because of the way they "feel" emotionally; but this is not what should guide the believer into trusting The Lord. Hearing what we believe to be God through certain feelings of love, joy, peace, etc., is not how a believer trusts in The Lord to serve Him and become free from the opposition standing against us that keeps us from walking in the peace that God has promised. So how do believers learn to trust God.

Proverbs 3:5
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

The "key word" is by "not leaning to our own understanding and interpretations. God's word is equipped to reveal a lie, by scripturally pointing it out. Lies hinder a man from knowing God in His complete truth and trusting Him. God's word is a lamp unto us and a light unto our path. Darkness can always be seen in the light; so false doctrine which hinders us from trusting God can always be revealed by His word. This is the only way a believer can learn to trust God. The word of God is given to us to prosper in knowledge that we may know who we are. God's word teaches us what He expects from us and many other revelations while existing in this world. But the greatest understanding God's word gives us is the knowledge of how to know and trust Him.

So why do believers fight within themselves, argue, and become angry when scripture is used to make valid points in discussions? Doesn't God's word give believers all the answers to combat against those that may present false doctrine? Isn't the author of the bible perfectly sound in the understanding of His own creation, to know what is needed for man to trust Him, and be conformed to His image? Of course... All scripture is given by inspiration of God for man's perfection. Everything a man needs to trust The Lord is in His word.

2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
2 Timothy 3:17
That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Opinions of how to trust The Lord is from the devil and leads people astray. It was the devil's opinion that cause his downfall because it had no foundation of truth. We must let God be true at all times and this can only be understood through His word.

Romans 3:4
...yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
