When the disciples asked Jesus who was the greatest of their group, His reply showed them the importance of being humble, serving from a heart of love, and knowing that God is in charge.
Your life in Christ is not about trying to be the most important or the greatest. It’s about humbly serving God and others first. It’s about seeing others as more important than yourself. It’s about following the example of Jesus, who came to earth not to be served but to serve and to give you His very best.
Humility before Jesus will give you all the confidence you need to serve Him and to treat others as more important than yourself. Set down your pride and embrace humility. When you do, you’ll see His greatness at work in your life. When you put Jesus first in every way, He will show you true greatness.
Prayer: Jesus, sometimes I fell tempted to serve myself before I serve others, to try to make myself great in other people’s eyes. You told Your closest followers they shouldn’t act that way. Please keep me humble and willing to be the “least” of Your followers.
