"But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people."
my main issue with this isnt the unbelievers- but rather those who claim to be christian but clearly are not - my father is atheist, so it should be fine to sit at table with him. right.
my mother however, practices witchcraft but claims to be christian - so, even despite her being family it wouldnt be allowable for me to be at table with her?
2. john 1.10
how do you guys go about this one? and in general practice. there are other parts in the bible where its said to not let anyone with a wrongful doctrine into your house as a guest or anything as it would be agreeing with them
"If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:"
i take it this implies a different faith or maybe even a wrongful interpretation of the bible - like for example christian occultist or whatever they come up with nowadays, or does this extend as far as an orthodox to not let a protestant in or catholic?
