Titus 2:11-14 King James Version (KJV)
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Titus 2:11-14 Good News Translation (GNT)

11 For God has revealed his grace for the salvation of all people. 12 That grace instructs us to give up ungodly living and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in this world, 13 as we wait for the blessed Day we hope for, when the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ will appear. 14 He gave himself for us, to rescue us from all wickedness and to make us a pure people who belong to him alone and are eager to do good.

11 No one will have an excuse for rejecting God’s grace because it is open to all to receive. Grace came thru Jesus Christ.

12 We are to fight the flesh and live set apart or holy for the Lord. We are to give up unholy desires and instead strive to be like Jesus.

13 We should be doing this until that blessed day that we see is Savior face to face. There is no retirement in the Christian walk.

14 Christ saves us from our sin but also bring us out of our sin if we let Him lead us, He will lead us to things that honor the Father.

Thoughts..christians ought to be zealous for good works yes! Now people often grumble oh that might make it seem like works salvation but we only do these good works because we believe.

We dont do it in order to believe..and people can definitely tell the difference between someone who is zealous for good works and someone whos just doing something grudgingly out of obligation

Absolutely! So many people today are preaching a grace absent of the cross of Christ in their lives, and that is just not biblical. They teach God's grace as though it is carte blanche (free rein), i.e. free license to continue in sin w/o guilt, and w/o remorse, which is also unbiblical. A true understanding of God's grace to us is that it delivers us out of slavery to sin, and it frees us to now become bond-slaves of his righteousness. Jesus died that we might die to sin and live to righteousness, not just to free us from hell and to give us the hope of eternal life. Coming to faith in Christ means we die with Christ to sin so that we might live with Christ to his righteousness.

Denying ungodliness and worldly lusts...

Christians ought to make a stand in this..in particular, to not have it in their lives and homes. But so many just have tvs and read and listen to the news where they exposed to ungodly advertising all the time.

I have had to say to some people..you do NOT have to watch tv everyday. You have a choice to turn it off, you can silence it and do something else, like pray, but many people are frankly lazy and have this strange need to be entertained all the time by other peoples bad behaviour.
