1. Embrace the cross.

Mat 16:24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

It seems the trend in church today is focused more and more about what folks can get from God. While we are exhorted to forget not His benefits (blessings Psa 103:2)it has never been the primary objective of the church to do so. Giving to get more back is a sign of either insincerity or immaturity: Until we begin to let go of the fleshly things of this world , seek His will above all we will never really know both the true power of God and the real blessing He has for us which is His perfect will for our lives.

Many blessings in His wonderful Name,
your brother Larry.

Psa 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Psa 62:6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

Amen ,Amen, what a wonderful post ...We spend to much time on the wrong things when it is the cross and the power thereof that is the key to salvation..We should take up the cross and lay down ourselves for all to see so that God may be lifted up among men (and women ).....its not what we can get ..but what He has given ...Thank you for this ...Rev

I am glad you were blessed my brother, is it not the Lord we should love with all our heart, mind and strength?

2. Love Ye One-Another
Joh 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

Rom_5:5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

As surely as our God is love (1Jn_4:8) His love should flow through us. Jesus demonstrated the power and the scope of that love by praying for those who crucified Him even as this terrible deed was being done.
The question is then, if we examine our lives are we reflecting that kind of love? Do others see God love flowing from us?
Jesus loved the unlovely, not just those who were like Him, who where likeable or socially acceptable.
Jesus loved those who were caught in the grip of sins that He hated.
Jesus loved the dirty, the downtrodden, and the contagiously diseased.
Jesus loved the Pharisees and He loved the ones who drove in those spikes.
Jesus even loved me, the one who caused His terrible pain and suffering.
So then, as we go out into the world today are we ready to love like Jesus?

Many blessings in His Name,
your brother Larry.
Psa 62:5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.
Psa 62:6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved

Mat_22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

So, in a perfect world how would you treat yourself?
Would you talk bad about yourself?
Would you treat yourself unkindly?
Would you steal from yourself?
Not likely. Yet for all our human flaws can we really love these people the way you should?
Jesus wants us to be living expressions of His love, nothing more and nothing less. So when we look at others let us begin to see them with His eyes, love them with His love.
So you ask, "how is that even possible"? The answer my freinds is as simple as this:
Ask God to love through you.
Believe He wants to do it.
Act like He is going to do it, go out and touch your world.

As we step out in faith trusting Him to touch this world through us we will see the power of God in our lives and in those we touch. Simple childlike faith is all He ever asked of us and a yielded vessel is all He needs.

Php_2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Php_1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Luk_12:32 Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.

Many blessings in His Name,
your brother Larry.
