In the New Testament, Jesus provided a profound and accessible path to salvation through his teachings and actions. Here are a few key points based on the Bible:
1. **Faith in Jesus Christ**: Jesus emphasized the importance of believing in him as the Son of God and Savior. In John 3:16, he said, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
2. **Repentance**: Jesus called people to repent from their sins and turn towards God. In Mark 1:15, he said, "The time has come... The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!"
3. **Love God and Love Others**: Jesus summarized the law and the prophets with two great commandments. In Matthew 22:37-40, he said, "‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’"
4. **Follow Jesus**: Jesus invited people to follow him and live according to his teachings. In Matthew 16:24-25, he said, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it."
Not physical objects like the Rosary.
Not repetitive prayers: 4 Our Fathers 7 Hail Mary's, etc.
Not calling another mortal man/sinner "Father".
Not building elaborate and costly churches with the same "required" by certain men in the church.
There is no list of "works" b/c no amount of them is sufficient.
